I luv this dude. He’s just like me. Always trying to get the job done, but usually doing it the hard way. LoL. I have to do this job myself on my boat. Only difference is I don’t have a trailer for my boat. Gotta do it on the water…..yay!

You’re a rough back yard mechanic mate but I’m just about to replace my seals and your video gave me some sort of idea how to do the job. Thanks

Great video thanks for sharing it. I just hooked up both back bleeder together with a 1/4” hose and open the bleeders up and turned the wheel back and fourth and I was able to bleed it that way.

I like your honest shadetree video. I'm about to have to do mine. I think they recommend loosening the caps before knocking or pulling the metal pieces with the 3/4 and 5/8 bolts on the end

I saw video where a guy padded the rod then beat it bracket off . Well I’m leaking so I’ll be doing this process thanks for the video . I want it fixed and back on the water 🎣

That small washer at the end of the 5/8ths nut is hard to find. You need to either order the kit that's 100 dollars or go to your local boat mechanic he or she might have one laying around. It's a specialty washer I thought it was going to be easy to find good luck

I put new end caps on boat and the seal on the starboard side is still leaking and the seal is brand new. As well the shaft has no knicks and is smooth why is the seal leaking?

looking to do the same thing, I was wondering how well did the aftermarket seals work for you.

Want to say thanks from Southern florida. Ordering my parts now. Would you recommend PB blaster to loosen that arm?

Noticed you are not filling with the expensive Seastar fluid… what type you using?

Don't use a hammer anywhere where you can contact the ram, you will just end up trashing another seal and redoing the job. Once you hit the ram, you need to replace the ram with a new one. Spend the $30.00 and buy the puller. Also use the end cap to insert the new end cap, once again, if you don't you can make a minor tear in the new seal and you will be doing it again soon. I'd also recommend placing rags in your transom, to keep your work space clean. Grease or anti seize only the threads of the brackets before re-assembly to keep the nuts from freezing on there for your next job. If you get any of that hyd fluid on your deck...you will be ice skating across the deck for a month.
