This was so helpful - thank you! Only bit that was a little unclear was if the black cover of little speaker at the top came off with the panel also (I'm an absolute novice with car stuff. Only removed the panel to relieve a rattling coming from inside). To anyone else wondering, it doesn't.
Thanks for the how to, I wish I have looked to it before I try to pry open the plastic grill... at least I didn't destroy it and it will be fine with some glue.
Do you know how much depth there is before hitting the window ? Because I have the same car and want to install Rockford Fosgate speakers with a depth of :64mm. Do you think this will fit ?
Many thanks for this vid. Worked perfect for new Kenwood 16.5cm speakers. The only thing for me was I tried to do the re-using old speakers method but the plastic cracked so bought brackets after all. Cheers!
I appreciate the information so i can learn ahead of time how the door card is removed and how the speakers are mounted, but I must say whoever chose those speakers for the car couldn't have bought anything more incorrect. The door pillars have tweeters for starters, so you're not gaining anything by having an 'all-in-one' style driver. Second (the big problem) the new speakers here are a massive downgrade even over the stock door speakers since they are significantly smaller and won't even seal to the surround by mounting them like this.
Sounds like your is the later one,the basics apply but you could do with a guide dedicated to the later model which sadly I have not had chance to film yet.
