Great video as per usual Dave , some amount of work for an air bag going off , new seat / seat belt /power steering , it’s mental to think what other damage is done just by clipping an island, other than wrecking the tyres and wheels ..... cheers for the video Dave
Hi, i have a 2013 seat ibiza. Im on my 3rd pas pump after original failed and cant shake the yellow light. Sensor is located on steering column, and supposed to be plug and play but just wont disappear. The 2nd that was installed we noticed when plugged back in the seat belt warning came on but he cleared that and never came back on the 3rd pump. Is there any link between this video and my car? Ive had no crashes or bangs just a steering pump which battery and all connections are showing as fine.
Hello, I have the same problem after an accident with my Seat Ibiza , the airbag went off and my seatbelts and powersteering are faulty. Sadly disconnecting the Airbag module did not solve my Power Steering , do you have any other tips ?
My mate has a 2004 plate astra SRI, a few years ago when driving down the m62 , small rock hit the sill airbag sensor , boom , seat and curtain airbag , ripped roof lining , he said WTF was that to his wife , insurance job , 2 grand plus , great job with the VCDS Dave , bought a verus edge last week , time to relearn scopes , came off fleabay 17.4 software , will get updated , cost a bag of sand , used some of the rates grant , rather than giving it to the tax man , looking forward to part 2 👍😉
@@davesterl bid on a few when away, got outbid , then came home , ebay message one morning, 6 mins left at 900 quid , put 1050 in got for 1010, and 3 quid postage, must have cost 20 quid to post that , the size of the box , put a wireless mouse on it save fat fingers on screen , cut out insulation on box to put car shaped mouse in the box , will start using next week when released back into dangerous Bolton , the highest risk area in the UK at the moment , masks on , clean hands and gloves on

Hi Dave anyway I can contact you, I’ve been having issues with my polo gti, the air bags deployed but the steering is really stiff and hard to turn, would I need to disconnect the air bag module ? Anyway I can contact you
@@ghgggh173 take it to a VAG specialist (so any 3rd party specialist will do) with a new seat in the car. It must have the yellow airbag plug connected to the factory wire coming from the car. The vag specialist will erase the crash data and code the new airbag to the vehicle. (VW Polo 2006 1.2 5dr) This process will restore the power steering. It takes them 5 minutes to clear it and the car will run like new.
Very odd that PS module would permit a reset without a valid coming from the relevant interface ??? Lucky for the Lad you were aware of this...Unfortunate he had the mishap in the first place. Oh well much, much worse results can & have ensued when the “crash” Register trips...Interesting Dave. Cheers
Yes ian, this is a bit of a workaround as there is now no communication from the airbag module so the crash signal is not sent. The snap on wouldnt clear the PS and i didn't expect it to. The owner initially found it strange all this would happen from hitting a kerb but the piezo crash sensor in the b pillar 'saw' an impact. Hope u found it interesting, cheers dave
Thanks for the content, I'm facing the same problem but I find the original VCDS from Ross-Tech a bit expensive. Did you use the original one or from other manufacter?
Hi dave I have the exact same problem. Its currently a skoda fabia. I have replaced airbags and seatbelts. I also removed the airbag unit and had the crash data deleted. But when I connected it up again the power steering light is still there along with seatbelt and airbag light. I tried using snap on tool but it won't remove the power steering fault.
Great video. I take it that both AirBag Crash and AirBag Component Protection are not both stored on the EPROM, only crash? I had a scenario about a year ago, Audi was heavily flooded, over centre consol. Needed another Airbag Control Module. Owner purchased a secondhand one, I had to purchase an Odis program with pass through device and then pay for Geko. It worked fantastic, more than what the Audi main dealer could do here in Spain. Just wondering if the Geko would work for Airbag Crash?. Cheers
But with another seat and belt, does the airbag module need to have the EPROM chip coded via EPROM reader/writer, or could it be coded via Geko? Sorry for the questions, just like info in case a scenario comes up.
Dave, daughters MK2 Leon hit a branch on N/S front. Reports mechanical failure of steering angle sensor. It's in the rack on this model. Ever done one, any advice? Oh and wheelbase was 5mm out but I have jacked it back to "dead on". Steering wheel still out a couple of degrees from centre though.
Had a Touran with amber P/s light on dash. Code was 00778 Steering Angle Sensor mechanical malfunction. The issue was a bent inner track rod. Crazy how it can pick that up.
@@philipscott1128 Just for info Phil. Used a bigger hammer to straighten out all the differences and reset the steering wheel another spline round to straight. Cleared the code, reset the angle sensor and has been right as rain since. All mechanical. Was thinking too hard about it!
Hi Dave Have tried quiggs in rasharkin for a belt? There is another vw breaker in burnfoot Donegal. Problem is I am sure you know most breakers will want to sell the front pair together. Did the passenger pretensioner not go off? Another problem is Royal mail will not post airbag or pretensioners due to explosive contained within. Appartently they will destroy if found.
forgot about quiggs, i'll suggest that to the owner. i think he's getting a driver seat from traynors. i'll have to check the passenger side, was unoccupied but worth a check, cheers
@@davesterl OBD11 seems to work just as fine. I tried yesterday and I was surprised to see that the crash codes on the airbag module(15) were deleted also
