Too cheap to make a tool with an interchangeable logo? Wonder what else they skimped on. Apart from emissions compliance and suspension. And engine durability.
The part that surprised me is that they hid the VW badge under it. Really, it was only to save on manufacturing costs. My sister had an Acura and they make no attempt to hide the fact that it is really a Honda. They have no reason to, it is no secret!
I think the rich already have contacts to inform whether the new model is ground-up or just some Q7 or whatever rehashing, and or they are already signed to an exclusive list straight from company or curated sellers. 🤔🤔☺️
Or finding BMW parts in Rangerovers and Mini's. Jesus, my neighbour had a 2005 rangerover and a 2005 X5 and they used the same engine and parts. He could take bits off either vehicle to repair the other as needed.
Owner of a Fabia for 10 years, VW is eeeeverywhere but a hammer and sickle on the TSI block for strange reasons. But is rebuilt now thanks to glorious CCP
Not really a surprise that all the brands of the Volkswagen Group share a lot of common parts. What is a suprise to me is that they didn't even care to replace the original Logo but simply covered it :)
I can understand that for some people it might be frustrating, but it’s one big reason why these cars can sell at moderately low prices. If they had to engineer offerente engines for every manufacturer, the price of the vehicle would be higher.
Alex Zander not sure I understand what you are getting at? It looks like it's a cost saving thing to stick the SEAT emblem over the top. Audi is obviously at the top of the VAG group, so it was my poor attempt at humour...
Lewis Barrett VW owns Audi. That's like saying pull the VW badge off to see the Bentley logo.. or the Bugatti logo. It makes no sense. Do you ever think Toyota badges have a Lexus badge underneath?
Alex Zander Yes I am aware of that. I have a Cupra myself and am aware of the VAG group, Audi at the top and Skoda at the bottom. The comment was simply about the heirachy. Anyway this is long and not worth a discussion. Later mate.
I like how brands like VW can have one platform and spawn cars that look pretty different... I guess the American brands can learn a thing or too on how to run many brands... I'm looking at you GM
@@cloned_noob3953 Many brands have, because they've bought so much and GM doesn't know how to manage, so they shut them down... Meanwhile, brands like VW Group haven't kept on buying and buying and they've never really shut down any of their brands...
@@yeshunited2213 so what you're saying is the most expensive and owner brand is the worst? there is something quite wrong with your logic my friend my VW UP is better then both the skoda citygo and Seat Mii because it has better parts etc
@@denjoost6797 i had both golf mk4 1.6(petrol+lpg) and skoda octavia mk1 1.6(petrol+lpg) and skoda was built better, golf kept destroying rod bearings and piston rings. Skoda never had any problem
I took driving lessons in a vw golf to begin with, and eventually the school replaced them with seat leons. I literally did not notice a bloody difference driving them
This is why companies who rebadge often have the same shape badges. Vauxhall badges used to be square but changed to circular to make rebadging Opels easier.
it depends. Especially for thw VW AG, most of their cars use the same or similar engines the ones that get a rebage are mostly the "cheaper" ones so Seat and Skoda! Every other company under VW AG eithe gets its own cover for said engie type or an exlcusive engine type (mostly the boxer engines)! As an example i own an old VW Passat 3B5 it shares a lot of parts with the Aui A4 B5 same engines different engine covers
@@d.j.mdronevideos784 right, I'm only saying that if I were them i would have made a body for the engine with only seat logo or I wouldn't have covered it at all... but as they did for fake exahust fumes public data, they weren't transparent this time either :(
yes because seat is a respected company from the 70s and then and has its own status in addition with dacia who wants to gain status from the renault badge
Wow, niemożliwe, jak oni mogą. Skoda citigo seat mii vw up nawet budy mają identyczne. A starszy projekt vw sharan, seat alhambra i tu zaskoczenie ford galaxy pierwszej generacji wyglądają identycznie. @@muthaphuckking9698 No bo jest stałą częścią całej osłony, więc musieli by specjalnie wyprodukować nową z nowym logo.Seat to nie marka premium, więc nie ma co się dziwić że oszczędzają gdzie się da
They could make it alloy rims cover centre (cuphub or whatever they call it actually) - they make different one for each trade mark. I just recalled that back when there was MAZDA 121 and FORD FIESTA being the same car, they even had two-sided covers on wheels, just flipping it whatever it was for FORD or MAZDA :)
That's because all the engines of Seat, Skoda and VW are made in Germany by VW itself. So the Seat is made in Spain, but the whole motor with all its components comes from Germany and is shipped to the Seat plant where they put it into their cars.
@@karlosbricks2413 probably it's cheaper to put a SEAT badge cover on top of VW logo, than make a completely different engine cover, that's why... Also probably Audi and Skoda do this aswell, so it would be pointless to have 4 different engine covers. Cheaper to have just the badge for each brand put on top
What a shock that a car, which is part of the VW group, with an engine made by VW, made in the same factory as VW would have a rebadged VW engine cover. Shocker 😮😮😮
@@sabhanmohideensheriff6562 yes, I'm aware. VW owns Skoda, as well. I'm a VW tech, I kinda need to know this. Though neither Seat or Skoda vehicles sell in the US, where I'm located.
Developed engine? Not just developed, it comes off the same production line. That's the total con of VAG. Same engine, different software in the EMS. That's why a Seat Ibiza costs 14,000, Skoda 17,000, Polo 21,000 and Audi A1 26,000. Just a change of looks (out/in) and software to make your engine run worse.
As someone who regularly works on tsi/tfsi engines: On the inside of the pistons (pretty much every internal engine part tho) you'll find the Seat, VW, Audi and skoda logo :p
Lovely engines IMHO. Possibly the best out of the current bunch of modern downsized turbocharged engines. Renault-Nissan-Mercedes' one is excellent too.
Ford Territory diesels in Australia have a 2.7 liter V6 from VW. I’m not worried? Performs beautifully, I believe the motor is in some Rover vehicles among many others.🇦🇺
I called the Audi dealer for some bolts the other day, they were $18 each. I called my local VW dealer and the same bolts were $12 each. I do not have a local Porsche dealer but I assume they would've been $24 (These were all the same VAG part number)
Well Porsche doesn't really use the same engines as the rest of the vag group. But if you called a SEAT dealer if there were any, those bolts would probably cost $8.
@@Parapumbito the 2.9L V6 appears in Cayenne, Panamera, RS4 and RS5 The 4.0L V8 bi-turbo petrol built in Zuffenhausen by Porsche powered the A8, Bentayga, Continental GT, Cayenne, Panamera and Urus. If you don't know which company owns seat you have been living under a rock? Mate that news is for car people only, regular people don't know things like that... Like me saying if you don't know raven software is owned by Activision you have been living under a rock... No you just don't follow gamer news lol.
It's like realising those BMW branded shock absorbers look eerily similar to Sachs units, or finding out some bits are made by Bosch or finding Nissan-branded bits inside your Renault.
@@tomalophicon you mean the diablo, the countach had pop-up headlights and the Diablo used headlights of the 300ZX under the license of nissan (so still a VW made part, they simply just bought the right to use the design)
No biggie, I worked for General Motors where we assembled and manufactured the S10 pickup and blazer, although some pickups were a little different and bared the Isuzu Hombre badge instead of GM or Chevrolet logos. Isuzu sold them but GM made them.
A co jste čekali? Právě jste objevili Ameriku. Velká gratulace. Nebudu z toho spát a všem to video musím ukázat. Díky, díky, díky a ještě jednou díky. Jste nejlepčí.
the point is that it is just taken from a VW factory and then they just slap on the SEAT logo they should atleast make their own engine cover or remove the VW logo
It's not like that. VW bought SEAT, so they decided (like they did with all other brands in the group, including Audi and Bentley) to share between them the platforms, engines, gear boxes, electrical systems and many other components. That is called "synergy" and it drastically reduces time and production costs, while keeping a high level of efficiency. As a result, they all share a high percentage of components.
It should be much more simple without pulling out the Seat logo from that engine covering to know that its a VW owned company, because its written "TSI" right next to that. TSI engines are made by VW for VW group.
My 1974 412 was one of the zippiest cars I ever owned. The only way I think I could have gotten more speed would have been by spending 6 figures or more. I also loved the fact that it was a Station Wagon with a trunk (Boot). Up front.
Seat was pretty much founded in a very similar way to Volkswagen, it was a joint venture between Franco's Spain ministry of industry and Italian carmaker Fiat. Just like VW was born as a joint venture between Hitler's Germany ministry of industry and German automotive engineer Ferdinand Porsche.
I don’t know if you know this but that company is the same as Volkswagen it’s just manufactured in a different country and they have slightly different models.
Shadow 144 No He's right. VW owns Volkswagen Porsche Audi Seat Škoda Scania Ducati Bugatti Lamborghini MAN Audis, VWs, Seats and Škodas mostly have Volkswagen Engines in their base models. Even Bugatti's W16 Quadturbo Engine is made by Volkswagen
Not many people actually know all the sub brands of different car companies. I've come across many people who were shocked that Audis come from the same company that makes Škodas and that they share parts. Even though the same TDI and TSI badges can be found behind so many of their cars.
