We went on a guided trip through the Rubicon Trail. The trail guide was in a KRK and it was the first time he had driven it. Said it was amazing and could handle obstacles better than most Jeeps. If they'd put out a super charged version i'd think hard about trading in my XRC.
What a great time to be into utvs, even the entry level machines are badass! Great video bros, drove a krx and those machines are smooth as butter! The clutch engagement is really nice
I run my 2020 X3 RR in wide fast Trails here in Michigan, average 50 to 70 mph through turns and whoops, theres no way that Kawi could hang. But hey, if you're an old fella that doesn't like too much excitement due to a heart condition, the Kawasaki is for you.
Steering feedback and harsh shocks were our main complaints with the X3.. I’m sure there are some aftermarket fixes. Power is excellent 👍🏼 And yes, the Kawasaki is super slow
@@OffCamberInd do you realize that there is a function through the display on that model called 'DPS' that allows you to change the steering feedback level? As far as "harsh shocks", the X3 is designed to run fast and hard through rough terrain, not a slow Sunday driver. I feel the shock setup on that unit is incredible in almost every condition. I've ripped through rolling trails, beat up Trails, sand dunes, and snow. I have yet to find anything that gave it a rough ride.
@@FITCLUBS101 I think these guys are just X3 haters. They actually said the Turbo S was the top dog! Like you said if you like Sunday driving the Kawi is the better option!!
@@JavierGarcia-je5ce to each their own. I'm definitely not a brand-loyal personality and will give props to any company's products that stand ahead without shiting on other people's products.
@@FITCLUBS101 The DPS changes the amount of assist from the power steering - not how much feedback you get from the suspension. I had a 2018 XRS and it rode choppy as hell compared to my 2016 Maverick that had CT Raceworx revalve and springs done. Wasn't until I did Shock Therapy that the X3 rode decently in AZ desert chop. It was a nice machine but it wasn't the be all end all of SxS's.
X3 owner myself. We ride in the ozarks so its mostly tight wooded trails, near vertical hill climbs with 2-3 foot dug out rock ledges and jagged rock gardens. Seen alot ok KRX's out and have been very impressed with how they handle it all.
We (mostly Ryan) was probably a bit harsh on the X3.. the comfort of the KRX was incredible. BUT, the bump steer on the x3 was surprisingly bad and it think that was the main complaint any of us had. 35’s didn’t help I’m sure. Probably an easy fix.. would be interested in experiencing some of the aftermarket options to fix that. The fact that both rocked the 35’s without any clutching or gearing was impressive
I ended up w/ a decked out WC XX. There was a used, low mile KRX down the street from me but some our trails are 64". I may eventually get a push turbo but so far the factory 125hp triple is doing fine.
That kawasaki krx rules in the Appalachian mountains in tn/ ky/ nc/ga/ va and wv. Go watch videos of krx on 35's climbing like a mule up the steep rocky hills in Oliver springs,TN at windrock atv park.
Watch blown budget’s video. See the comparison. Think u guys are a little hard on the x3. It has an eco mode for the rocks. Enjoyed the video. Both great rigs.
Ive watched and ridden with them. Good dudes. There is a difference in driving experience between those two on their channel. At the end of the day, everyone has their preferences, and if I had to choose 1 of these 2 for all around, it’d be the x3. In rock only, KRX. I can’t handle going slow all the time. First thing I would upgrade on the x3 would be steering
I was there this week Sand Hollow is amazing. I was in my 2020 Wildcat XX did you guys notice all the machines for rent at Sand Hollow are KRX'S lol :))
Got a Tracker XTR 1000 with Shock Therapy help and I wouldn't trade it for the world! Amazing machine! I'm up here in Northern Utah. Maybe I'll be down at Sand Hollow when you guys are around to add this to the mix. I think you really need to add the Wildcat XX / Tracker XTR 1000 to your comparison.
@@OffCamberInd I’ve got a 2021 special edition krx stock other than 35” sticky zillas, goes everywhere and pulls fine in high or low. Honestly wonder if they made changes between 20 and 21 because it seems to pull better and harder than the 2020s I’ve seen and ridden with
@@TexasPatriotOffRoadAndOutdoors maybe so. I still am running stock clutching and still having no issues thankfully. I also do a lot of rough rocky mountain trails and very little roads or constant throttle. It seems like from what I’ve seen a big portion if not most of the clutch issues come from ppl who ride a lot of roads or dirt trails where they carry consistent speed and throttle.
@@marka1712 that seems to be a common riding style that causes the issue. I will say that mine has seen a bunch of 30 mph road use as well as about the same steady speed when we ride in Arkansas with all the forest service roads. Mine definitely has the the clutch “shifting” feeling. I will be replacing the weights soon. I just hope I haven’t damaged the face of the clutch sheaves.
So pretty stuff that adds weight and flashy stuff like whip mounts = awesome. And horsepower and speed = scary and bad. Yeah, based on those criteria, I get why these guys like the the Kawi and RZRs.
If Viper had coating option and anodized their parts I would have bought everything they make for the KRX and my Pro XP. It s the only reason I havent bought anything of theirs.
I put 35s on wider offset rims on my x3 and can 10000% confirm that the handling SUCKS ass compared to the stock 32s. On stocks I absolutely love it. 35s it’s a love hate relationship. Love the look, and clearance and stuff, but It does not inspire confidence to rally trails hard and fast. And the suspension seems to be harsher with the heavier wheels/tires.
Depends on where you’re at. A KRX would be miserable at the dunes - for technical trails (which is where we spend majority of our time), hard to beat a KRX
Depends on what you're doing and where you're doing it. Dunes and long straights etc the canam has all the power and krx is underpowered. On really rocky trails and mountains the KRX suspension is better and it's built better and it just handles that kind of terrain better. You don't need all that power going through windy trails in spear head va for example, you'll never hit 60 except for a couple gravel roads getting from trail to trail.
@@Ryan-hp6xt I would have to 100% disagree with you on this one. Power isn't just about top speed. And to say the KRX is built better isn't also incorrect. Just because it's build with some heavier wall tubing in places doesn't really Ean much except for added weight. Don't get me wrong, the KRX is a nice machine, but it's not better than an X3
@@TheMiraldi when you consider the price gap between a krx 1000 and a top trim X3, I'd say the krx is the best choice for me. Even if the X3 is better, it's not $15k better.
I know this is a older video, but in between buying one of these 2 machines now, to me the krx is way to loud in the cab and that’s a pretty big deal with my wife, my teryx4 had the same issue, the x3 seems a lot quieter unless you really getting on it, but not crazy about seating position, they say they pretty adjustable but don’t know, I drove a R and it was a rocket ship, don’t know what you would need a RR for but everyone says get the RE
Ya, Justin kills it. Good driver. All the machines are good when you build them up . They all need a little help from stock form in one way or another. Thanks for watching 🤘🏼
I loved my KRX. I just couldn't get over the fuel gauge issues due to poor fuel tank design, the horribly undersized brakes, and the dead 0-10 for areas I can't load up for a hill climb.
Guess we haven’t noticed a fuel guage issue, but we don’t normally do long rides either. Brakes could certainly be better. The 0-10 can be improved with a tune a clicking, but still not quite like the turbo machines
@Off Camber Industries I've heard around 20% of people don't have fuel gauge issues but a quick google search, forums, or FB and you'll see it mentioned. I ride alone sometimes so it was scary for me. Kind of miss it but I like my X3 also. Trades off on both units for sure
If you lived in utah moab area and you dont wanna have fun in the dunes in utah the krx would be cool. These guys are totally krx guys. But for normal people the canam can do everything and does everything good. I ride in idaho and have been riding utv’s for 14 years and ive seen 2 krx’s out in the wild and never seen one at st anthonys
bring that Kawasaki to Wyoming and you’ll be leaving it on the side of a mountain walking back to your pick up. I’ve watched it happen the machine is still there so if you need Kawasaki parts come see me. It couldn’t take the two day beating the 2 can ams and the one Polaris made it back to the trailer no problem!
Second that on the can-am. Normal key and the eco mode calms it down tremendously. Will still light up and get a little cranky if you happen to jab the throttle but no near as bad as the sport key and sport mode.
You guys mentioned the sway bars being disconnected on those machines. Was ordering if you disconnect front sway bar on the rzr in previous videos or both? Hard to find any videos in depth on that and would be nice to see a good comparison video.
Take this video with a grain of salt because Ryan is a die hard polaris owner. Ryan is always talking crap on can ams and Eric is a die hard kawasaki owner. This was the first video I've watched of them and after watching all of there videos they are great to be honest and I love em but when they are doing a review of these machines it's completely bias. TRUST ME. Go watch there other videos its kawasaki this polaris that.
Eric sold his Kawi and went with something all new - you’ll see it revealed tomorrow at 11am Mtn time. This isn’t meant to be an official review - it was just first impressions in vehicles we don’t have daily access to, have some fun, and to highlight our friend’s company. Thanks for watching and putting up with Ryan’s strong opinions 😂 can-am are great with a few aftermarket modifications (just like every make) See ya on the trails!
It’s obvious that these guys have been riding the worst machine out there (Polaris) for years and they just can’t make themselves be honest about it. Both of these machines are FAR better than any Polaris ever made and they know it. Riding in a Polaris and then switching to a Can Am is like going from a golf cart to a rally car. I love my Can Am, but I also love the KRX. Kawasaki has done an incredible job with their first entry into the sport sxs segment. Wouldn’t take a Polaris if you gave it to me😀
Canam power was impressive, steering was horrible. KRX was great crawling, comfortable, and handled well. Slow is the only complaint there. If they decide to add a Turbo and long travel, the rest of the OEMs need to watch out
EVERYONE agrees the x3 is significantly faster, especially in wide open terrain. 112 hp to 200 hp - it’s no surprise. The X3 is inferior to the KRX in rocks or technical terrain - which we admittedly understand isn’t what everyone cares about in a side by side. Both have their strengths and are purpose built
Have driven both - in the Ozarks and I can honestly say I’m always glad to bump back into my KRX. The X3 is fast but for the type of terrain we ride, I really feel the KRX is better suited. The X3 also seems to make a lot more “racket” especially around 5-6k RPM.
@@DerangedOffRoad dude.. it's been frustrating lately. If we try for more than 5 minutes, we have to stop trying in fear that Ryan is going to curb stomp it! It's consistently gotten worse to use
Try this comparison in the dunes with paddles. X3 will win. I’m in the market for a 4 seater. Just sold my yxz. Don’t like the way the 4 seater x3 looks. Looking at that new rzr pro r.
Like they said in the video, depends on what kind of riding you are doing. I don't live anywhere near the dunes, I live on the east coast, so there's basically no where I will ever need that 200+ hp and the KRX would be better for me.
Plastic crap? Everything they make is all billet aluminum and 100% made in America. If you’re going to talk shit, at least know what you’re talking about
