This particular song not only won a grammy , but it broke The Beatles record at the time (I think it was for staying in the number 1 spot the longest at the time for 8 weeks if I remember correctly)…the single on its own went double platinum selling over 2 million copies world wide. The album it appeared on “East 1999 Eternal” I think sold 4-5 million out the gate and has now sold over 10 million certifyibg it as a Diamons selling record. The song is a dedication to thier friends and family who had passed away including thier mentir Eazy E who was the person who signed them to Ruthless Records in 1993. Eazy passed in 1995
@BehindTheBeatReactions I've been listening to all almost all of their music for most of my life, you should definitely delve deeper into their music as a group, solo projects, and some features, and you will find music of all styles, speeds, subjects and even genres, I'm certain you will appreciate their musical talents and versatility and knowledge much more..🤘 Apologies for the textbook, got a new subscriber from South Africa though..🇿🇦
How are do you guys call yourself musicians and not even know anything about easy-e ? My nana who lives in the middle of nowhere in Mexico knows about easy e
It's comical listening to ya'll talk music theory to people who define what rhythm and Soul is. All that counting, that it sound good and is harmony personified, so WHT hell are u nerds counting for?
I honestly this came off a little disrespectful and I was anticipating a little more open mindedness considering I’ve never seen your videos before and you’re not the typical demographic for this kind of music. At least on the surface. I would suggest at least minimum research before reacting to a group that you’ve never heard. I say this because Bone Thugs have a huge following and history that is full of drama and excitement. They’re still dropping music to this day, almost 30 yrs now. That being said they’re not classically trained for singing. They have a huge catalog and some songs are only singing some are a mix and some are just straight rapping with little to no singing. They are definitely the pioneers of the triplet flow that you got a brief example of on this song. Eazy E is the one signed them to his label Ruthless Records and that suggested adding the N Harmony part to their name after listening to them because of how much they harmonize. Bone Thugs N Harmony have had a lot of influence in the rap game. They’re living legends. Krayzie Bone and Bizzy Bone are amongst the top echelon of MCs. They’re more than just rappers. Personally I think they’re well rounded artists because of how experimental they are. I’m biased being a die hard fan and maybe I over exaggerated but I feel like there was an overall disrespectful tone. Hopefully you give them another chance. They are a talented group. Also prayers to Krayzie Bone who is in the hospital right now due sarcoidosis 🙏🏾
How have you not heard of Bone Thugs? These dudes are super legends in hip hop. Been in the game for 30 years and still putting out music…still have a cult following and still tour. Grammy award winning, only group ever to work with Eazy E, 2Pac, Biggie and Big Pun while they were alive. They’ve crossed genres and have worjed with all kinds of artists. You mention the Commedors? Look up Krayzie Bone and Commedors…he collabed with them. Krayzie being 1 of the 5 members. They’ve also worked with the likes of Jonathan Davis (of Korn), Mariah Carey, Phil Collins, the Marley Borithers among many many other legends showing thier versatility. As others have said, I suggest you do some research and give them a further listen…most influential rap group of all time and the majority of todays rap is influenced from Bone
@@BehindTheBeatReactions yea not sure what you guys are into but Bone doesnt just make soft music…try songs like Thug Luv (with 2Pac) No Surrender East 1999 Down 71 (The Getaway) Notorious Thugs (with Biggie) They got so many classic
This group was rappers and not R&B Singers, so comparing to other R&B artist and Lionel Richie you’re prob going to be underwhelmed. That was never their talent or genre. They came onto the RAP scene with the triplet flow (which hadn’t been heard of that time), which really was like their baseline and just mixed in harmonies (which was also a first in rap). They kind of took the rap genre by storm and were really successful in it. I’d recommend giving some of their other hits a try, but they still might not be y’all cup of tea.
you missed the whole point and heart of the song, are you actually musicians or just people who study the 1,2,3 of a song. very disappointing reaction that came off pretty disrespectful, especially when you couldn’t even figure out this is a rap group and not an R&B one. for “musicians” that’s pretty interesting.
Little Eazy is long gone Really wish he could come home But when they tell a guy, gotta go, bye bye All a lil thug could do was cry, cry Why'd they kill my dawg? Damn, man, I miss my Uncle Charles, y'all And he shouldn't be gone In front of his home, what they did to Boo was wrong Oh so wrong, was so wrong Gotta hold on, gotta stay strong When the day comes Better believe Bone got a shoulder you can lean on, lean on
@@BehindTheBeatReactions soooooo little worth listening too that’s on the charts of recent decade or two. A couple made sure to pop up but they won’t get the recognition they deserve until this younger generation of persona rappers wanna be pop stars finally figure out they are not hip hop. And then everyone might see I’m talking we’ve had maybe ten real MCs in the last twenty years.
Big Eazy fan. Listened to Bone a lot more then Gang Starr. Picked the last though, expected you would pick that corny Crossroads song. Should’ve done something from creepin on ah come up to get those high synths and better picture of what is also Bone. Keep the guy on the right, even though he is like my grandma at a Larp party. That’s what makes this channel. Who wants consensus, right?
The first time I listened to this song I felt the same way you guys feel right now. However, I feel the song was way before its time allowing it to deliver a message and feelings that a typical R&B song couldn't do nor a typical rap song. The problem I initially had with it was I was initially looking at it as an RnB song expecting typical hooks and bridge ect, however, the unorthodox structure took time to get used to and once I got used to the structure I was able to then digest the message and feelings behind the song. In the end, this is a unique song that has not been repeated even though there are literally millions in the budget of many record companies for those who can make another crossroads. As a matter of fact, even to this day Bone has been asked to make another Crossroads, and even though they have been successful using certain elements from this song, nobody has been able to quite put the pieces together the way this song is constructed. The best analogy I can come up with is a rap version of Bohemian Rhapsody another song with a million moving parts, but the execution of placing these parts in the perfect place separates it from any other song. The pure beauty of this song is that it basically created a different genre of music, not quite singing and not quite rap, but in the end, it has a whole lot of what's missing in today's music, SOUL.
Just so you Barbara Streisand loving fools know... this song topped the charts in 3 different music genres at the same time. This comment is more mild than your taste in music compared to what some Bone fans will end up posting on this video.
Oh man, if you guys think you're thrown for a loop on the structure of the song and how it's not conventional, wait until you listen to Outkast, more specifically Andre 3000. You never know if he's going to start on the one or the two, you might split a word to end a bar then the second syllable of the same word begins the next bar. It's bananas. This wasn't a version of the record that was planned, which is why the earlier release of E.1999 had a different Crossroads on it. That one was dedicated to their homie who was essentially the 6th member, but he was killed before they met Eazy and blew up. While out on tour they kept getting call after call about friends/family dying (most notably Layzie's child and of course Eazy E) so they went in the studio and produced this masterpiece dedicated to everyone they lost.
The other guy seems like he always looking for confirmation from the glasses guy, maybe this is when your too smart for the music and just over analyze everything.
Are you guys from america? Because if you are, It’s amazing how much one half of the duo says he doesn’t know what’s being said and can’t relate when it comes to his own countrymen whenever you’re listening to rap artists who are Black. I’m from a different country and I understand and relate just fine.
Just stick to ur own culture and don't bash this great groups legacy with disrespect. U guys been under a rock bc this song has been at mostly every funeral for ages now...
Dead souls, nigga, this for Wally Eazy, C's Uncle Charlie Little Boo, but God's got him And I'm gonna miss everybody I done roll with blows like AIDS Looked at him while he laid and prayed But destiny played too deep for me to say Little Layzie came to me Told me if he should decease, "well, then please Bury me by my Gran Gran And when you can, come follow me"
You can tell who is a true fan of music by how many different types of music you can appreciate and pick out the things they like about it bc they’re fans of instruments Melodies flow etc. Y’all making the PNW look bad lol I’m from Portland we grew up on rap music but we also liked other types of music as well- primarily rap tho. I wouldn’t go as far to say bone thugs are some of the best MCs but they’re a group of poor young kids from Cleveland who came together and made many hits and sold many records and are regarded as legends in the game. And their style of rapping and harmonizing was very unique.
It’s called creativity, lots of things going on, but only creative minds can catch the lyrics, the cross overs and paint a picture. None of those weak rules 1-2 whatever. Different culture, white folks uses 1-2 cha cha for dances while everyone else dance to the rythme.
There’s a lot going on in this video yes. But the little baby was lazyie Bones son. That passed away. Yall should check out. The cross roads. The Original. That song was about their friend Willy that passed away.
I like your reactions but Who tf is dorian?I also think you need to learn ebonics to understand some of the lyrics. This song is mourning for lost ones,so when he says why they killed my dog/dawg...he is not talking about literally dog
This was Hard to watch. Dont be such nerds hahaha. Bone thugs n Harmony changed the game and their style has been copied by so many its ridiculous. A lot of rappers have the talent, without the music theory knowledge. Bone Thugs are the best to ever do it.
I was really into this video until I hrard the term RnB, Bone is actually a hip hop, who's rhyme patterns are similar to a TechNine or Twista. The only difference is Bone started using more harmonies once their second album "E.99 Eternal" came out. Also, when they speak of their dawg getting killed, they're not talking about the animal "dog" its a reference to his homie, or his friend. Definitely gotta get more into hip hop language before you react to hip hop jams or the video will come off a lil weird. Its all love tho, I enjoyed the video, just wanted to point those things out, keep rhem coming...
Thanks for the kind words! That's funny we were set on someone killed his pet lol. Also, there are TONS of old school RnB elements in this song. Genre should be a dirty word! Bone thugs are bone thugs!
The way y’all butchered this song reaction hurts my soul. Sometimes knowing too much ruins things. Wow. Not coming back. No offense. Can’t believe I witnessed such a lack of open mindedness from people who “know music” 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
The fastest song to go #1 it beat the Beatles 40 year old record they held for the song you cant by me love. The couple that maid the reaction video need to move out of there boyfriends parents basement and get there own place together and learn some music.
the fastest song to hit # 1 and thats before the internet was really started and i thought you guys was a cute couple. tand the cord starts on D Deezznuts@@BehindTheBeatReactions
These. Are Amazing they mixed the 2 rap and harmony they are talking about how Life on this earth is shorter then most think you could die anytime any age any place
10:30 _No offense, but you’re not very open-minded to Making music from the heart; therefore it’s hard for you to actually listen to music with your heart_
Love your guys' nerdiness for music and music theory but you guys are being too critical. This song is from the heart, not a song they went in the studio to make a critical and betoven(however you spell it lol was hoping autocorrect would fix that) song to lol. You guys need more context too tho which you guys looked into just barely at the end. A great song nonetheless which i think you guys would say as well but i like how you gave props to them about not using autotune 💯🤘🏽 loved that you guys took the time to listen to them still
This Song Won A Grammy! Bone Thugs Sold Over 50 Million This’s One Of My Favorite Rap Groups! Please Do More Research On Bone They’re Not Singers They Rap With Harmony, It’s A Big Difference I Don’t Know Whats Up With You Guys Maybe HipHop Rap Isn’t For You 😂 I’ve Been A Big Bone Fan Since 1993 No Need To Be Disrespect!! Put Some Respect On Bone Name… I Was About To Subscribe But After Listening To Y’all I Can’t Do It Now No Hate I Wish Y’all Nothing But Success💯💯
Please more Bone thugs...if you like the more melodic style try...DAYZ OF OUR LIVES or SHOOT EM UP...if you like more hard core rap try ETERNAL or East1999...love to hear musicians take on bone...there best songs are produced by DJ- UNEEK who has some amazing Instrumentals
Yeah, Dayz is probably the most similar to crossroads, but like another commenter said, nobody could ever quite do that again, with the odd structure and great collaboration.
My friends and I listen to this song as far back as 1998 when we were in school. Reminds me of the good old days, and reminds me also that we are old as dirt lol.
Well this Journey is going to be fun 😊 You had me with “Why do I feel like you’re messing with me right now” 😅😅 Eazy-E has been dead for like 30 years.
i wouldn't be suprised if these 2 get blown up from one of the bone thugs, cause this video is pretty disrespectful cause the way their mocking the name Bone thugs n Harmony
Please stop reacting to a world you have no knowledge or respect for. Flippant disregard of a whole art form and culture. Would be nice if you guys had a great deal more open-minded. Or is your's a conservative outlook
Why they kill my dawg(friend) and I miss my uncle Charles yall, and he shouldn't be gone, in front of his home, what they did to boo(that was a member of their crew) was wrong, oooh so wrong gotta hold when the day comes better believe bone got a shoulder you can lean on
Gangsta Dresta and BG Knocc Out wouldve had the limelight, wasnt it for 1 of em going to jail for a long time. So BTNH became Eazys priority at the time.
@@vredelingregardless of BG Knockout n them…when Easy heard BTNH he was going to put resources into them. BG n them would have never been in the same tier as Bone.
@@mikeg4960 yup ofcourse, like comparing pears and apples. Not trying to downplay BTNH. They wouldve gotten famous anyway. Just saying what wouldve happened to BG and Dresta if... (sorry English not motherlanguage)
****** The Female Group in the Intro. is TRE {French for 3.] WOW! Rappers that SING! Consider Enough a MASTERPIECE that the Video WON a GRAMMY for "BEST RAP PERFORMANCE" in 1997. KRAYZIE BONE Has Been Clocked as One of the 3 FASTEST RAPPERS i the World.
man i dont understand why people think its all about the structure of the song....like wtf???its about the words and the way this shit makes you feel and relate to!!i strongly disagree with your observations! especially yall judging it over technicalities!!never again will i click on "musicians" reacting bullshit!!
