1984 is one of my favorite rock albums of all time, one of the first rock bands I was ever into growing up back in the eighties was Van Halen. Girl Gone Bad blew this young rock chicks mind at the age of fourteen. Incredible rock album track with some of the greatest rock guitar playing. When Eddie Van Halen died a couple of years back I was crying. He was always one of my favorite guitarists. The best era of Van Halen was the David Lee Roth years.
That Buckingham Nicks has become one of my top 10 albums. It’s fantastic and $60 for “pristine’ is a great price and I would have bought it as a backup. (If it’s a first year not reissue.) By the way, the area looks amazing! I’m more familiar with the view of the Space Needle from Frazier than the cool shot you showed. Thanks.
Hi Mazzy, Thanks for taking us along ! This was so much fun ! I totally agree with you about Van Halen, I just couldn't get into them when they first appeared. I got into them recently because of my son. I love the song "Panama". I was totally into "Punk/New Wave", and now I'm into Jazz, I would never purge my albums though !
great record show...nice stuff...good to see kimbo and coffee dave....been a long time since i've been to a record show...used to go all the time back in new york....glad you had a good time...peace to all...rocky
Saw Coffee Dave bought Midnight Sun album. Don't know the album but immediately recognized the Roger Dean artwork and font. FYI met you guys at the bar after the show briefly. I'm the Elvis guy.
I loved the song Red Rubber Ball. It’s always fun to see Kofi Dave out and about with you. Good times. I was out with a meet up with a VC member. Greg from 3 Dimensions of music. Video in the works. As always enjoyed your vid.
I've been in the Bubbleator, and attended the King Tut exhibit. 1962 "It Happened at the World's Fair" Elvis movie. John Lennon suggested the spelling of "Cyrkle"
Great video, a huge record fair...with a bar! I go to record fairs nearly every weekend in the UK. Loved that Chronic Town R.E.M. record you got is that the reissue, i got it on CD.
Fun video Mazzy, your friend picked up some good funky albums. One thing I noticed, Seatle looks to be very pricier than New York city record shops. I got that first ElF album for $20 about year ago here at my local shop. Looks like your buddy dropped $145, if I'm not mistaken. That's way over the top.
Hey Mazzy. I liked Kimbo’s big bag of funk! Cool Betty Davis find! Your Betty Everett comp will be good. She made some nice records with Jerry Butler. And A Day At The Races is a classic. The Millionaire’s Waltz is the highlight on there. 👍👍👍
Love the video. Kimbo purchased some nice Funk n Soul, especially the Carla Thomas LP. I'm in the UK and collect 60s Soul and R&B on 7". Would it be worth me paying a visit to the US, to pick these genres of music up at this Record Show?
Good to see you at the show. Saw you having coffee when I was in line waiting for the gate to open just before 10. I collect ECM so found a few I didn't have. Got that Plastikman double album Musik that Stunty just talked about, very cheap. Someone was selling a lot of interesting free jazz for around $10. Someone else has a lot of UK post punk/new wave 12 inch singles you just never find here going cheap. Very happy with my haul ! Could only see some of the labels in your video , but if I read them right, who is that guy doing blind buys on $100 records ?!?
Sad there was no mention of the Gehry designed MoPop (formerly EMP) where they always have killer music exhibitions 🎸 5 Point Cafe there is the best in town too 🤤
You go to the Seattle Center and don't even mention or show the MoPOP?! Containing the world's largest collection of artifacts, hand-written lyrics, personal instruments, and original photographs of Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana? This is RU-vid malpractice.
