A more elaborate sports report from Wayne Cody re that year's
Kentucky Derby and featuring audio from the new
Voice of the Seahawks Steve Thomas. The late Bill Gallant
(died 2002) is heard with an audio report on Sea-Tac Airport,
and note Phil Johnson (still at KIRO) near this segment's end
for a brief news headline insert with Bill and Gregg
as they approach the top of the hour..
..where at the tone TV went to 5-full minutes of
PSA's and promos during radio's CBS network news -
- then went 'back' to the cameras at 6:05
When you heard the 'moog music' for a break,
KTZZ's main announcer does the voice-over
Radio's main studio DOOR (shown right-side near end)
was the only one coming from and going back to KIRO-TV's 'opened operations', where at that time: all of TV's news reporters and writers, along with the main news anchors - shared one large 'arena' without wall dividers ON AIR. If you were to change the channel to 7 for their news you'd most likely SEE this same studio door in the background - opening and closing - on the left side of the screen during live TV newscasts
