I don't get it, these who defend caging a wild animal, land or sea creature, will usually start out "I always loved animals " really, if you love them you cage them, have the arrogance to think you can control them. All wild life, if possible, should be left to be what they were created to be, free to live out their life.

By the way, this is called human imprinting where you speak of animals as though they are exhibiting human sentiments and behaviours. No. They were actually "playing" with you like they do seals only seals get eaten. They, even if you think are following your instructions, are in charge at ALL times and decide what they want to do when they want to do it. If you are witholding food from them, controlling the amounts they can have and have trapped them so that they cannot get their own food, of course they will "respond" or "do whatever it takes" to eat!

@@trumplostlol3007 umm I know we probably both feel the same way about seaworld but positive reinforcement actually works MUCH better than negative reinforcement. first of all positive reinforcement doesn't mean "reward" positive reinforcement means you're giving a tangible or behavioral consequence for a behavior (punishment or reinforcement like food) that you want to continue and negative reinforcement means you're taking something away as a consequence for a behavior you want to stop (this could mean taking away something preferred) Many studies show that reinforcement works MUCH better than punishment. @@alexarias5717The education system in California that was based mainly on positive reinforcement has been changing because it is failing. If an injured human falls into a killer whale pool with blood spilling from his wound, there is no chance that he will not be attacked by a killer whale. There is just no way you can desensitize or distract a killer whale so that it will not to attack that human. It is in their genetics. Serious punishment/negative reinforcement, on the other hand, may work. If you punish, say using electric shock, a killer whale every time it tries to attack a bleeding human like object, that whale will learn it. Or if you put a bleeding human like object into the pool and make it taste seriously unpleasant to the whale. LOL That's why people put up electric fence to keep wild animals away from their gardens. It is very effective and humane. It is just like our legal system. If positive reinforcement works, then there is no need for prisons and other punishments.
@alexarias5717
@alexarias5717 3 года назад
@@trumplostlol3007 Once again you are not listening to me. Positive and negative reinforcement is when you add (positive) or take away (negative) something in order to reinforce a behavior you want. Positive and negative punishment is when you add (positive) or take away (negative) something in order to DECREASE a behavior you *don't* want. Does that make sense? Please stop talking about this if you can't even get that right. Do your proper research. Giving the whale a shock for eating a human shaped doll is an example of positive punishment. And it seems pretty fucking stupid to change and modify natural predatory behavior in an APEX PREDATOR that you're holding captive when you could just... not fucking hold it captive for entertainment and money. That kind of positive punishment (the true term for what you're describing, once again negative punishment is when you take AWAY something) will only traumatize whales from even interacting with anything that looks like a human tbh And also please tell me more about the education system in california because that's pretty interesting. when it comes to stuff like dog training positive and negative reinforcement is ALWAYS proven to be more effective because they are motivated to attain those reinforcers and will learn that unwanted behavior will not give them those reinforcers and they will not be traumatized by things like hitting or shocks

Even if you’ve trained and loved them, you are not a hero and they are not happy to be in a tiny pool. Perhaps the ones selfishly bred in captivity don’t know what or where they should be, but the ones stolen from the ocean do know. The ones bred in captivity may be fond of the trainers, but this is a sick selfish practice all for the Benjamin’s. It’s definitely not to help the whales. Did y’all know they stay together for life in pod never leaving their family.? They learn to play, hunt and become responsible adults. Same as we raise our human children. Perhaps we should keep a few humans in one room and one room only. Force them to learn to perform tricks for food. Deny food if they miss their que. After 20 years in your tiny prison performing, you can say how happy sealife is in these parks. I have no agenda. I’m not politically motivated. I just do not see any benefit to imprisoning animals.

One death?? Dawn was the third person killed by Tillicum (Including another trainer) and other trainers have died as well! A Spanish trainer was killed only a few months before she was. Plus there were many, MANY violent injuries over the years of waterwork. Several former Sea World trainers are disabled today from injuries inflicted by orcas. Check out the Ken Peters incident, the video is everywhere. He came very close to death. Orcas are simply too big, too aggressive (as top of the food chain predators who kill everything thing eat) and too intelligent to do well in captivity. Waterwork probably was enriching for them but it wasn't worth the injuries to people-most never reported publicly. It is not in the best interest of people or of orcas to keep them in tanks as performers.
