he says hyperloop is expensive because of infrastructure but then says that we can just use airplanes, but thats ones of arguments elon musk uses is that airports take up a lot of space in the middle of our cities, that is also very costly. besides the fact that taking off/landing takes a long time
Usually airports aren't in the middle of the cities in fact they could be connected with the centre thanks to something like the Hyperloop. And the velocity problem with the taking off and landing could be solved with VTOL aircraft.
sure i was talking about airports as they are right now, and right now they take up a lot of space and taking off/landing takes a long time to get to high speeds in the air, but VTOL would be amazing, and elon musk has talked about that and how he wishes he could do it if he wasn't so busy, and that he thinks somebody should. I thought most airports were in the middle of cities, but that might also be because I live in Portugal and here the airport is very close to the city center of Lisbon, when i say in the middle i don't mean literally in the center, but in the urban area of the city, not suburban.
