It's true though. I was a big Alonso fan back then and didn't like Vettel at all. Nowadays I almost wish Sebastian would be more competitive and see him win again
I'm actually flipping at how clean this lap is, braking as late as possible while also hitting the apex and outer kerb of every corner, *just how?* No wonder why this team was dominating, Sebastian and the Car where in perfect sync. Man and Machine...
I agree! Some people don't see how difficult this track is. Almost every corner has camber at the apex, which means it is easy to lock up while braking at it latest. And the corners who don't have camber, are blind or long twisty turns. I guess the race will be dominated by the class of Lewis this year. Bottas doesn't make any chance, it is a pure driver skill based track.
@@krappyfrappe4547 totally agree.. I think he was comfortable with 2017 Ferrari , short wheelbase with good amount of downforce. But they changed their concept from 2018 and his spins started.. shame.:(
the turn's average G-force is 3.5G, with 4.5G lasting for 2 seconds and the peak being 5G by all means, no matter how good or bad of a driver you are, it IS physically demanding
@@darthvader2635 I'm fine with the rest of the game, even though I don't play online. It's just that going for the fastest possible lap times in Time Trial is almost impossible because of the ridiculously strict corner cutting/track limits system. It gets seriously frustrating.
May not be seen on tv but there is incredible elevations and altitude differences in the circuit so for the drivers I guess it is very very exciting. Turn 8 is great because you need 6 seconds to pass 4 apexes under an incredible G !
2011 was one of the most underrated seasons in F1 History, it produced some amazing racing: China, Monaco, Canada, Germany, Hungary, Japan all amazing races
But overshadowed by brilliant Redbull and vettel Just like the 2017 season where lewis and merc won but there was Baku Singapore Bahrain; Monaco(was boring but good ); Canada Sorry i made a mistake there is no 2017 Germany i was confused with the 2018 one
Yeah I watched 2010-2012 seasons during quarantine, 2011 wasn't as good as the other two but it was very close to matching them, if there was a close title fight 2011 could've easily been remembered as just as good as 2010 and 2012
That dexterity of his hands and the agility with which hes driving the car is so beautiful. He was driving near the limit with confidence back in those days.
@@redbullsauberpetronas it's codemasters dude... they do everything to extract money from their players. Ermin Hamidovic made a good video about it if you're interested
the speed he takes into the corner is amazing. that is vettel's great strength. that's exactly what the ferrari doesn't allow him and that's part of the problem.
He's also just kind of getting old. He doesn't have everything that he used to. Personally, I think he needs a break for a year then come back when he's refreshed.
@@shmet yeah that's somewhat true but sebastian did very well in his first 3 and a half years for ferrari. He just needed a team to properly back him up after Hockenheim and Ferrari just collapsed
I wonder if Red Bull's downforce package helped Vettel; he pushes the car as hard as humanly possible and regardless, the car would never lose traction.
No. It’s a thing from Turkish culture, called “Nazar boncuğu”. Someone must have gifted him in order to give him a chance to win the race. Trust me, I’m Turkish.
@@NanaGlover Well, in 2014 wings were to Daniel Ricciardo since inside the team they knew about Seb's plans for leaving, but beyond that industrie needs a motors/cars brand to be WC to sell better their products and FIA works looking forward that direction direct or indirectly, you know business are business; in other words, witbout the engine "homologation" in 2014, Red Bull keep being probably the one to defeat even until these days. If you look beyond the Mercedes question, the Milton Keynes ones are probably the best team since 2009, even they were really close to win that year against BrawnGP as well. Cheers.
Great to have this track back on the calendar for 2020! Used to love driving it on the F1 2011 game. Really looking forward to this and Imola after Mugello!
I dont know if it is just me but i enjoy a lot more of watch and listen a lap with this cars than the actual ones. I feel that it looks more fast and the sound of the engine is awesome to hear!
Turn 8 is only mastered by leaving a car length from the apex allowing you to take the next 2 corners almost full throttle carry over that speed to the straight. Ive seen many hitting the apex and have let the throttle off the next two corners
It was really the more downforce focused cars of the early 2010s that suited Vettel best. Actually many drivers (like Jenson Button and Nico Hülkenberg and probably many more) says that to this day, those were the most fun cars from a racing and confidence enspiering point of view. And from a viewers point of view... well you all know what went down between 2009-2013
The actual overall downforce levels were lower back then. But the cars were lighter, the wheelbases were shorter and, more crucially for Vettel--who basically loved to just stamp the throttle out of corners during that era, the engines were relatively torque-less. Since 2014 you have to be more progressive on the gas.
That time when everybody was jealous about him and everbody laughed at Hamilton I remember. :) Nowadays everbody jealous about Hamilton and everbody laughs at Vettel. Time is changing but both are multiple world champion and they don't deserve what they usually get at facebook for example. :)
@@kj48tiger Crashed a couple times? Mate, he was called into the stewards room for 6 times in 8 races! And when asked about it by the media, he called the stewards racist! That is when people started to laugh at him! Man F1 fans have recency bias!
This car has so much downforce and Vettel drives the car so accurate without any correction. Give him a car like this with a good engine (not Ferrari) and im sure he becomes a world champion or he fights for it at least.
Such a flawless lap . SOMEONE SHOULD REMIND VETTEL THAT HE IS EXPONENTIALLY BETTER THAN HIS CURRENT STATE !!! I REALLY WANT TO SEE HIM WIN IN THE SIMILAR WAY HE USED TO WIN BACK IN HIS PRIME DAYS.THOSE DAYS SHOULD RETURN ! COME ON VETTEL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
