I had a hard time figuring out if the cat was too big or the man was too small

Interesting, definitely can't say I've seen a concept like this before. A giant cat that blows wind at a turbine powered man. Some people just don't appreciate hard work that goes into animation, I should know I just completed a hand drawn animation!

the artist who made this animation has also done work on the environments and aesthetic of the Disney show Gravity Falls. he's really fantastic.

Great short. Imo it is a representation of how jealousy can very easily destroy love.. How quickly love can turn into hatred. Yet if the friendship is strong enough both will make sacrifices for it to work. Man died for his cat. The cat will be blowing the windmill on the mans back to keep him alive for a very long time.

i cant believe how such uninteressed things...a windmill, a cat, and a really old man...can make an interessed story

The cat didn't know any better, it was doing cat things. But it saved it's homey in the end. :D

So if someone steals your best friend, you kill them, they try to kill you, kill your best friend in the progress, you kill them, your best friend revives, and you live happily ever after with the stealer of your best friend dead. Makes sense.

Sooooooo is that cat gonna have to blow air on the man's back for the rest of their lives? Or is the thing gonna spin by itself?

So. For those who don't understand, here is my perspective: the cat and the old man are best friends, and spend all their time together. One day, whilst playing soccer, the ball rolls too far and ends up in a cave. The old man, having gone after it, meets a small sprite creature and begins to play with it. The cat, wondering where his friend has gone, comes into the cave and becomes jealous that the old man is playing with someone else and destroys the ball. When the man wanders off, the cat then kills the sprite; whose ghostly form possesses the windmill and tries to attack. To save his friend, the old man jumps in front of him and is killed. During the night, the old man is somehow turned into one of the sprites (my best guess is that the killed sprite did this, taking on the form of the cat so the old man wouldn't be afraid), with a windmill on his back as a power source, and he and the cat are able to be with each other again.

That cat's never going to get sleep again.

This is beautyful, the music, the characters, the scenery. Perfection!

Wow... This is one of the best animated shorts I've ever seen. It was so cool and really heartwarming. These two don't need anything but each other to be happy... It really is a nice message. Everyone should watch this!

I love how none of the characters ever say a word, and yet you can feel the emotion through the animation and music. It's wonderful.

Why do you all hate the cat ;_; cat is best

is it just me or did that cat just jealously and cruelly kill an innocent spirit being, accidentally made a windmill monster and then made it so the nice old man can't live with out him, literally?

Depressing but lovely. The characters are lovable, the art style is simplistic, and I like how it switches between stop-motion and actual animation.

There was nothing that could be better. But when something is new. Something that is beautiful. That can't be explained with words. A new emotion will arise too. She became jealous of them. They shared the same moments. They experienced so much fun. So she lashed out... And cut the stem. He tried to walk away because of the pain. How could she know the cause of her bane? She was attacked, but he got in the way... Why must he have to die on this day? Jealousy has finally taken its toll... It was big, and ugly... Just as a troll! Though he may be gone, and sure to be dead... The memory of him will always remain in her head...

from all the cartoon shows I watched, this is the only cartoon animation tat is heartwarming. whoever made this must be very special.

This video is a big part of my childhood. Once i watched it kept seeing some dreams about this cat and images of windmill on someone’s back. Also the main theme was randomly appearing in my head and i was always wondering where is this music from. And now i finally know.Thank you, I am 21 now

Its good but what happens when the cat dies? I mean i know the old guy dies too but he still has a little time before the windmill stops so really when the cat dies and cant blow on him the old guy has to suffer the rest of his really short life knowing his bestfriend died and that hes going to die too. Scary if you ask me.

My opinion on this? For the cat's and man's treatment of the creature, the "spirit" thing punishes the cat and the man by killing him. The cat is enraged, and blows back the "spirit" thing, blowing it out. However, another part of the punishment is that the man is brought back alive. However, the only way he can live is if the cat keeps blowing the windmill. The man will die without it. So basically, don't be rude to others?
