My extended family owns & operates a farm, so I can appreciate the sheer labor and pride of place these glimpses show. Long may your family and land prosper.
I have a regular job, i wake up every morning at 5 am, I'm back at home by 5 pm. I wish I had your life, hard working but so interesting . And rewarding. Count yourself as the lucky ones.
It is definitely a lot of work, although everything in this video was spread out over a year. Our farm is mostly a poultry farm where we breed many kinds of fowls, so the work would be a bit different from a dairy farm, but we have 9 coops now so we are always kept busy.
@@joshuareynolds5219 Do you plan to own a farm of your own one day, or are you building life skills for now? It is great to be able to do lots of different things in life!
I am definitely learning a lot of skills such as building things out of wood, planning projects, and working with animals. In the future I probably won't have a separate farm from this one, but I am still deciding whether to move off the farm at some point or maybe build a separate house. Right now, there is a lot going on such as our barn remodel, new dogs, as well as sheep giving birth soon, and then we start hatching chicks in the spring, so even if I wanted to leave the farm at some point it wouldn't really be possible.
Don't toss out those steel gates, they can be sanded back and painted, good as new. A great worker there, Reminds me of me. I loved doing the chores on my farm all of my life.
That's great that you enjoyed living on your farm too, I know the number of people living on farms is decreasing so it is nice to be filming what i'm doing and sharing it. We actually loaded the gates on a trailer and brought them home from a neighbor's house, they are really useful. In fact, I have painted a couple of them and will be including that in the time lapse compilation I upload at the end of the year. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching! I use GoPro cameras and the batteries aren't actually the best, but I usually use USB battery banks connected to them while filming.
Thanks for your comment, I'm glad you like my videos! I've been making compilations like this since I had less than 100 subs, so I'm very thankful to have 5K subs now
I watch mostly homesteading videos but ever time I see one of your videos in my recommendation I have to watch, for entertainment and to support you. This was my second time watching this video....well now my third. Stay consistent with your videos and you’ll make it.
Thanks! I'm actually planning to post a new video tomorrow about preparing our farm for winter, and I want to try and post more consistently in general. I'm always busy on the farm and time lapse compilations take a while to make, so I will be doing more real-time/vlog videos in addition to the time lapses.
Olá Joshua ,não me canso de ver os seus vídeos, assim que der poste mais vídeos da sua fazenda, é um lugar lindo ,e é bom ver seus animais soltos , obrigada por compartilhar.
Thanks for watching! I know, that is the best like to dislike ratio I have on a video, and possibly because I worked on it almost weekly throughout the whole year
Thanks for watching, the camera I use is a GoPro 4 silver, and I put it on a tripod most of the time. I also use a USB battery pack to run the camera all day without changing batteries
ok, thanks. You have a really cool channel keep it up it's great. can you watch my channel and give me your opinion because I'm thinking of not continuing mine your opinion would mean a lot. Thanks Michaela
Hi Michaela, I looked at your channel and it looks like you make really cool videos, and I like your editing style! I understand that it might seem not worth it to continue the channel because you aren't getting a lot of views, but that is how all channels start, and it is great because you get a lot of practice making videos while you have few people watching, and then when you get a lot of subscribers in the future your videos will be even more improved. My channel only had 9 subscribers after a whole year, and it took me 2 years to get to 100 subscribers, so I totally understand the frustration and I did feel like quitting myself a few times. One thing that helped my channel grow faster is giving my videos longer and more detailed titles, tags, and descriptions. There is a tool called "tubebuddy" which you can install in your browser and it helps recommend your video tags and titles based on what people are searching. After working with this tool for a few hours, my views literally doubled overnight. Also I noticed a lot of the music you use is copyrighted which means you probably see "copyright claim" in your video manager. That is not necessarily a problem, but unfortunately RU-vid is really restrictive about copyrighted music and it seems to reduce the visibility of the video, and also you can't earn money off those videos in the future. I use "no copyright" music in my videos from independent creators on RU-vid, and I know it might be hard to find music like that which suits your taste, but I would still recommend checking out channels such as "NoCopyrightSounds" or "Audio library" and see if there is any music on there that you would like. Good luck on your channel, I subscribed :)
@@joshuareynolds5219 Thank you so much for the tips. I don't plan on making a living off of RU-vid because I just don't think thats (me). But I will definitely take in your advice and at least try to improve my channel. I just thought it would be something fun to do on my free time. Once again thank you for your advice and for subscribing, your a good person. I will be watching your videos as they are released you can count on me. I some how came across you today as I am making a time-lapse video my self, and was researching the best way to do mine on RU-vid and came across one of your videos I liked it and subscribed. I now have some really good Ideas in mind, so thank you for your time I will try to stay in touch with you. Just in case you want to talk here is my email---- kaylaburkhardt250@gmail.com. Michaela
Thanks for the feedback, I can try that in the next video. I just don't know how many people will have time to watch a whole video that is 20 minutes long.
I agree with you for sure, I would have made it something different if I had a chance to redo this video, but 2 years ago my opinion was obviously different. Thanks for watching though!
