Thanks for the great info, you solved my desert locale search! Ideal, no crowding, good views & limited camping. Fantastic!, can’t wait to try it out. Thanks! Reluctantly, I almost tried Slab City Ca but i had very low enthusiasm for it, too many ppl, outlaws & trash, etc, beside, I wanted to stay in Arizona. Shalom!
I grew up in Northern Nevada and was in CAP SAR for many years involved in missing aircraft searches across the northern half of the state. I was also active in caving and have traveled all over the desert and the sierra's . My Scout is a 77 with a modified 392 400 Hp, Detroit lockers, 8000# winch a modified TQ727 and over 250K miles. I only have a glimps of it in this video right now. I am currently up in WA. and the Scout is at my ranch in Pine Valley Nevada .ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IVASU29WuuM.html Hope that works.
It's a beautiful location... I worked in that area a few years.. I would say North of Interstate 8 is much safer for camping.. The I-8 Corridor can have heavy dope traffic at times... Great Video... Have Fun...Stay Safe
DANG! I've been on Woods Rd plenty of times to uh, take a comfort stop, but never imagined there was anything further out. See a few people camping out there from time to time, but didn't know there was anything organized.
Interesting little campground. Please note when you get to the end of the hard road off 85 you are going to be doing a U turn on the trail to the left that will take you back and parallel to the hard road to get into the desert and then parallel going north on 85 for a mile or two before heading into the desert going east (very confusing). Road would be a bit problematic for a normal car. I suggest instead of going to the hidden location you stop about a mile into the desert and pull to the side. More scenic and rustic! Just my opinion!
@@W7DSY i've been travelling the s.w. for 20 + yrs. , and MANY of my "secret" spots have been ruined by Y.T. postings ....i'd prefer the old days before g.p.s. , but life goes on........there are MANY camp spots in the area that are even better , but some people aren't adventurous , thank gawd
