I wish that Lilith had her full Sprite set in this game since she was in a few of the endings and Roll has them. This game was wierd with their secret characters tbh.
Most likely limitations on the tech they were using. Granted, a lot of those limitations seem to fly out the window once MvC2 rolled around, but I don't know how Capcom was running things.
This is why we all loved capcom the game depth, characters, hidden characters, freedom to express your playstyle it really was crazy an we still finding tech with no patches hidden interactions with characters ( lore battles etc ) bro … just seems like more love was in it, but bright side the fighting games are even more popular now the fgc an other players is growing as well hopefully we get back to this level of quality again 🔜
i wouldn't really call breaking the game "quality".. maybe the term you're looking for is emergent gameplay and yes, modern FGs don't have that anymore with the existence of patches and whatnot.
really enjoy that Lou's sprite is more or less an upscaled version of his sprite from Midnight Wanderers I have a BUNCH OF NOSTALGIA for that game & Three Wonders as a whole
I remember that game because it once replaced a MVS NEOGEO at a Laundromat back in the day.... I HATED IT!!!! Until I actually played it and loved it for it being similar to Metal Slug... At least in my mind at the time. Over the years my memories warped and I began to think it was a NeoGeo game 🤣🤣
If we're talking full on new, never been in MvC before characters, here's what I'd like to see on both sides. Marvel: Daredevil, Doc Ock, Loki, Human Torch, Nightcrawler, and Blade Capcom: Axl, Leon Kennedy, Laura Matsuda, Masamune Date, Ryu (Breath of Fire II), and Samanosuke
The fact that MvC infinite doesn't have as many X-Men characters is just a sin. Venom has been in most of the games and yet he's DLC, c'mon. Thanks Disney for ruining Marvel.
I love how she actually plays like Lilith, and apparently the excuse is that the two sisters switched bodies freaky-friday style. They really cheaped out on the Splendor Love animation though.
Oh yeah. In the first MvC Ryu had a thing where if you got a specific button while he's out, you trade a gauge for him switching to Ken's style and another for Akuma's. Cycles back to OG Ryu
@@CosmicRPG There isn't one for Sean, the yellow one is just the color he gets when Ryu in his alt color transforms into Ken. It's just a neat reference.
Those secret characters are alot of fun to play. It was so cool to see those dudes pick them, so people who never saw them before, could see them in action.👍😄
It’s the small details I love in this game. The whole showing a picture when you do a super.. and for some character when they do their super/hyper you can hear a low “get ready” that’s so cool to me 😆 😅
Actually.... For some characters it says ' Infinity ' and for others 'X'. . . I don't know why.... But it's something Carried over from both Children Of The Atom & Marvel Superheroes
I want MvC2 to be remastered. But boy howdy, how cool would it be if we got an X-Men CotA all the way to MvC2 remaster? I would love to play some of the older games!
@@in4mus85 I hate the physics of 3. Especially how characters bounce off the ground like a basketball for like an hour after knockdown. Made me drop the 3 like a bad habit because of it.
I've played MvC on NullDC recently after being off for awhile, playing that shit on 4K, really makes me up at some point, Capcom and Marvel finally gives a MvC Collection on all major consoles
Was I the only one, mind you its cool when Max wins, yelling for Gold War Machine and other players to pull off a super when there was a clear opening....and they were maxed super?

Since i don´t play MvC, i guess that guy who chooses Gold Warmachine, Dark Ryu and Shadow Lady, is the equivalent of that one who only knows to play Rugal in Kof 2002 plus and only knows Rugal.
The secret characters in this game are not that broken, the only ones that are real strong are Gold War Machine for his hyper armour, and Red Venom, for his insane speed. Oh and "Dark" Ryu is just Ryu with Akuma moves, he's not a secret character.

I guess the music budget for this game was used mainly for the Roll and Strider Hiryu themes, maybe also Wolverine's. That's why the rest of the music sucks.
To be fair, everyone is cheap in Marvel, but only two secret characters are significant in this game, Red Venom who's way better than regular Venom and Gold War Machine, who's about equal with regular WM, the best character in the game, the rest don't really matter because they're weaker than their regular counterparts.
@@ddd7038 yes. I've watched tournaments for mvc1 for awhile. Stryder beats them both cuz of his super. Warmachine overall is just better. Red Venom will either die to a bnb or super cuz of his low health and Gold Warmachine just gets hard countered by Stryder and can't really catch regular Warmachine.
I was under the impression that Roll is pretty bad and is more-or-less a joke character because her everything is so extremely stubby? I was thinking he picked roll to handicap himself because of Gold War Machine.
@@starbreaker6441 Most lists I've seen have Roll, Orange Hulk, Morrigan, and Lilith at the bottom, with Gief and Ryu being towards the bottom of the character soup, and then at the top is Gold War Machine, War Machine, Red Venom, and then Wolverine and Strider? the game where Roll is incredible is Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom where she has insane air mobility, a really silly OTG setup, and what is effectively ELena's Healing super.
Makes the sprite more readable than if he was black. Even some of the comics/animated tv shows used the same approach cause you loose a lot of detail on a purely black character. Similar to why Batman is blue in the NES game.
It's a bit easier to make characters all/mostly black on a 3D model which is why you'll see way more 3D models with black costumes/etc. On a 2D model it's pretty difficult to make the sprite readable (which is very important in a fighting game) so more often than not, they'll be some shade of blue or dark grey.
The first MVC game had its their laziest game design on Ryu and on their secret characters. Instead of getting Carnage, Red Hulk, Iron Man, and Lilith, we instead only got buffed pallette-swapped characters that already available. Only Roll was different but still has the same lazy gameplay
You can say the same for Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter. Only Shadow Nash was different while the rest were just buffed palette swapped characters.
Max… all the hidden characters suck besides GWM & RV. Unless you’re a top player on FC, they all get made to look good. Come run some real matches on FC with ya boy
