Hi Lewis, happy new year. This brings back some memories of me as a teenager back in the early 70s listening late at night in my bedroom to these stations and wondering what they were. Might have to have another listen for them.

Interestingly enough many musicians such as Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada have used some of these recordings as samples for some of their songs. Nice video by the way.

For 12 years i worked at FCO back in the 70's and 80's was interesting monitoring some days at work to Low Frequency data. all the Transmitter stations Creslow, Gawcott and Poundon are gone now but many days a weeks spent working at these out station HF sites. Marc in Bletchley Towers G6XEG

I remember when I ordered this in the mail, it came with a great box and a bunch of cool extra booklets. Would always confuse the lads when I popped it in the CD tray 😂

Irdial also did another CD around the same time called 'Electric Enigma the VLF Recordings of Stephen P. McGreevy', well worth getting too if you can find a copy.

It was difficult to not hear them during the late 1960's while listening to Short wave and loads of voice and CW comms that are just not there anymore on low HF, that reminds me I must take a drive up the road to GCHQ at (Morwenstow) Bude to see if anything interesting going on, never know I might get the 3rd degree from the local police if I hang around to toooo long !!!

Great cd of number's history Lewis I arranged the first ever enigma magazine in meeting in 1998 at the Royal Hotel Purfleet essex just 6 attended with a small e3 flag on the table and Paul beamont now of enigma 2000 chaired the meeting....and yes a couple who looked out of place for a semi rough essex boozer were clearly listening to all that was discussed I believe they were from the intelligence services....my goodness where has 25 years gone x
