Instead the pin code trick, just extract the special door key from the fob, foil wrap it and then leave it in the glove box. Then go whitewater...

Just got my GR86 this past week and regarding the piped-in speaker/engine noise. You can now disable it from the dashboard menu. Looks like there was a software update to do exactly that.

The passenger door unlock tip actually is so useful. Thank you so much.

My favorite part was when he was pulling at the dash. stopped for a second and was like "I removed screws already, do not just pull at your dash"

These days, I get frustrated that I can't order that exact Neptune Blue Premium MT from dealers or find one at all

There is also a 12V outlet in the glove box. You can run a dash cam to that outlet instead of fuse box.👀

The audacity of this dogwater company is hilarious. For those that don't know, Kevin Vo was fired from FT Speed on 12/13/2022 in a disgusting way. Buy your parts from somewhere else than FTSpeed or Subispeed folks; support somewhere that supports its employees and treats them with respect. An 8-year, passionate, face-of-your company employee deserves the respect and courtesy of at least a conversation being had about any conflicts of interest or things that would necessitate termination of employment if continued. To outright fire him out of the blue without giving him a heads up or notice that something he is doing/saying will not fly and deny him the ability to make an informed decision on what his options are going forward reflects poorly upon FTSpeed/Subispeed. In a game where you just play the middleman, I will gladly take my business elsewhere to some other middleman that isn't FTSpeed/SubiSpeed; there are a plethora of other options out there that can access more or less the same catalogue of items. FTSpeed/Subiespeed did Kevin Vo dirty, when Kevin Vo was a SIGNIFICANT part of why the company is as successful as it is today - hopefully yall's marketshare takes a deserving hit and Kevin lands somewhere that will treat him better and be worthy of the good-business his passion and efforts bring forth. Thanks for these tips! Shutting off the seat belt alarm is great, and a keyless code for the trunk is a big help as well. None of this is mentioned in the owners manual, but there are about 4 pages advising that we should not ingest the battery from the key fob. More of this kind of material if you have it!

Seriously thought he was trolling at first with the trunk thing, that’s a really cool feature.

The engine noise isn’t fake. It’s actually the car’s engine sound on a speaker. Seems like a useless gimmick except it’s helpful when you’re on a track with the windows open (usually a safety requirement) and can’t hear the engine to know when to shift. People are connecting the speaker back on to go on track.

The seatbelt chime is actually nothing new. Been doing it since my 2007 Legacy. Works with every Subaru A very neat hack for sure. And yes, I recently just disabled my active sound control, a must. Now the trunk hack, that is cool! Thanks for sharing!

FYI. you can take it to the dealer to disable the "engine" sounds. It's a setting when they hook it up the computer. If you don't feel comfortable removing those panels. Also, i have see people unplug that speaker with just removing the side panel. its a little tricky. If only the one I "ordered" in December would actually show up!

Keep the setting where the door handle only unlocks your side of the door. Turn off the setting where when you put the car in parked, it unlocks all of the doors. While these may seem as convenient features, they will compromise your safety, criminals will simply wait for you to unlock the door or put the car into parked and then run up on you.

LoL, my 2003 Jdm Subaru legacy 2.0gt has the same entry passcode function..but it used for unlock doors by pull handles for 4 set of number

I’m not sure about the new GEN, but the previous GEN that I have does not say that I have heated outside mirrors in the manual or anywhere, but one day when I turned on my rear defogger the outside mirrors started steaming and clearing, bonus!

I'm not a fan of touchscreen head units, I got one in my 2016 Scion TC I plan to purchase a JVC Single din Head unit to replace it. I'm also gonna do a lot of other mods, it's bone stock at the moment cause I'm still making payments on it. It's not technically mine until it's paid off. I also wanna start saving up to buy a GR86 Brand new in full cash.

Why hsve production GR86s the tailpioes so buried into the rear diffuser? On the marketing pictures they look much better inline with the diffuser or even actually a bit protruded

When I try to do the 5-digit code for the trunk, after unlocking the car, when I press the trunk button, it opens the trunk.. what am I doing wrong?

I had a 2001 Subaru Legacy B4 RSK and the door handles do the same unlock thing with a 4 digit code. It saved my ass so many times, for some reason I kept locking my keys in the car lol.

Are some of these really hidden features? I assume most of these are in the manual, but how many people actually take the time to RTFM?
