You want an invincible weed eater string ? By accident I found out that Tennis racquet string is 10 times stronger and better than normal weedeater string.

If the tennis string lasts 3 X's as long then cost and amount of cutting time is comparable between the two. The real savings is not having to wind the string on the spool as often. And we all know how much of a PITA that is! This is worth trying. Next spool will be tennis string.
Thanks from England because I am sick of trying things and have never found strimmer line that won't break, and I've tried everything from my guitar strings, zip ties (that definitely do not work) and kite string, and if this doesn't work then my lawn will be a hippie. I tried this and it was terrible! At first it was so bad I thought once I use up this tennis racket string I won’t buy anymore. Then as I went along I got more frustrated and thought, once I use up the string that’s on the spool now, I won’t use the rest of it. Then I got so frustrated again that I just stopped and pulled off the tennis racket string that was in my spool and threw it all in the trash. It was my experience that tennis racket string wears out about 6 to 7 times faster than normal string trimmer line.
I’ll give it a try but I’ve discovered 2 things that might be just as good. #1, the Ugly Head saves me buck time from having to restring my trimmer, and those little yellow plastic blades are like knives, they really DO work. #2, Titanium String (WalMart), by itself (single strand) lasts much longer than the normal trimmer string..but, when doubled up with the Ughly Head it really last quite a long time, cuts through very tough stuff similar to what you show in your video and its a piece of cake to change out the used strings...I’d suggest giving those a try as well.

@@bravoalternativemedia4807 synthetic gut is nylon - same as any strimmer line, gauge 16 is even thinner than the original line shown at 1:22. Unless the tennis string is kevlar, it should perform worse.
As the cutting is done entirely by the tip of the spinning line, it seems unlikely the tennis string all fuzzy wuzzy is going to cut anything. It may last, because it is flexing all over and fraying, rather than tracking flat and breaking with sharp new tip as line is intended. Why not use fishing line, even tougher Spectra?
Maybe a shaped polyester tennis string like Vokyl Cyclone or Gamma Zo etc. Poly strings are monofilaments and wouldn't fray like the synthetic git string did. Synthetic gut has a monofilament core wrapped in smaller filaments. Those outer filaments are what we see frayed out in the vid more than likely
Initially he has 1.65mm/0.065" line, which is one of the weakest. Tennis racquet strings are most commonly made of nylon, same as the strimmer line material (or it could be PA6, PA66) - however they should be thinner overall. So indeed a placebo effect (unless he used a kevlar string), however it says 'synthetic gut' = nylon at 1:22, gauge 16 that's 1.26-1.34 mm, which is significantly thinner.
That's one of the least durable types of tennis string too...synthetic gut. Polyester strings are much more durable and heat and abrasion resistant. I wonder if they would last even longer. Pricey option going with poly but it might truly be even more INVINCIBLE going 3-4x and long
There's one problem you're using an electric weed wacker how well would this perform with a gas weed wacker which is much more powerful and spins a lot faster
Great, but what kind of string is it. Tennis rackets use string made of different materials. Just wondering what exactly it was that you used? Seems to me that could be kind of an expensive replacement for line trim, but if you weren't going to use it, I could see it.
metal won't work, I've tried it. the metal ends up breaking from the friction of constant bending/flexing. I used stainless steel lashing wire (lineman use this to lash communication cable to metal strand on utility poles)
