I found my "perfect" Shih Tzu at the animal shelter. He was about two years old and housebroken. Shih Tzus are the best companions. Take care of Papa's cat 🐈

You are doing great!!!! Italian Greyhounds are really sweet loving dogs. They will go out a doggie door, if you have a fenced yard. We have a brother and sister, they are very loving to each other and love to cuddle their humans. They barely shed too. I’m sure any sweet little dog you would love, and it would love you ❤️🥰🙏🏻

It's so weird that you speak about a stray cat, cause whenever we have a loss, we gain cats into the family, so we took him to the shelter, and they found he had a microchip, they sent him back home, and he was back within 2 days, so we have adopted him, and he was a Blessing!!😻

I love your Papa's Cat that was named by Brooklyn. I think that is so precious. I think she is wanting you to be loved on and to give you a friend. I will try to see if there are any folks in your area that have a small dog and who needs a home. The SPCA here in the North Georgia area have many dogs for adoption. I am praying for you sweet lady. We love our shitzu! When our first one passed away we got a “teddy bear” dog. It’s a combination of shitzu and bichon frise. She doesn’t shed, she has hair that you need to brush. And they are even smaller than a shitzu. Of course Melina’s dog Lilla Rose is a good breed as well. Very small. I have found that our dog knows when I’m not feeling well, or I need someone to help me. She comes and sits right beside me and doesn’t leave me until I feel better. A dog would be a great thing for you to have. We trained our dog to go on a pad when we can’t be there to take her outside. We were gone a lot for work so it was hard for her to wait. It works very well for us to have a pad for her in the laundry room for her in case she needs it. Then We just discard the pads. I hope you find a puppy dog, they are a comfort to me and my family.

Very innovative! Thanks Kate and Ms E. I could also see this being a good gift for book clubs - book mark and a place to write your notes! Just include one of your paper covered pens! I love your story about Papa’s cat, it brought a tear to my eye. I have a Cavoodle dog they do not shed and sleep most of the day. Very good company. There are groups on FB that facilitate rehousing of oodles.

These are really cute. Katie has great ideas. Thanks for sharing! Always great to see you and hear you! I love your stray cat and I have believed for years that cats pick their owners. We live way out in the country and thru the years we've had many a cat show up, out of the blue, and stay. One winter a big white long-haired cat showed up at my Dad's place. (Back in the days when we only had our outhouse.) Dad was in the outhouse minding his own business and the cat jumped in through the door. Startled Dad yelled "Holy Moses!" Guess what we named the cat?! I had a big orange cat show up at my house ten years ago. I started feeding him, he was neutered and turned out to be the best cat I ever had. He followed me everywhere outside. I use to shovel snow paths everywhere on our property. He would follow me and sit and patiently wait for me. He would follow me up ladders, sit and wait, while I shoveled off roofs, then follow me home. One evening I heard a ruckus outside. He was chasing off a fox from the yard. The fox would run a ways and then chase the cat back. They did this, three or four times. I think it was a game. Too funny! We have another orange cat now. He just showed up a couple years ago and of course my husband started feeding him. He's now our outside cat. We have two inside. Both rescues. When my daughter was killed in 2019 she had two cats and a pug. We added them to our household. The pug was adopted by our best friends (they have had pugs for a long time and offered to take her) she was very old and they gave her the care she needed. She lasted for another year or so. (We already had two large dogs.) One of my daughter's cats had to be put down when he developed severe diabetes, but we still have the other cat. Sorry, I rattled on. Anyway, I'm glad you want a dog and have a cat. It's amazing how much company they are and they love you unconditionally. Thank you for making us a video! Hugs!

Miss E, when my uncle passed, a cat showed up at the farm the next day. No one had ever seen the cat before but he moved himself right into the garage. It had bad scars on one of it’s back legs, my uncle’s left leg had been burned in an accident. It soon became evident that the cat was deaf, my uncle lost his hearing after serving in the military. The cat spent the first lonely winter with my aunt and then he disappeared just like he had shown up. I have always believed my uncle sent the cat and after your story, I KNOW he did. ❤❤❤ Kristie

Oh my goodness, a little while after my husband passed away I was sitting in my yard and a little cat came by me and wouldn't leave me I brought him in fed him to come to the vet and he wouldn't go away it gave me comfort so I called him my buddy everywhere I went he followed I had him for one year and a half and he helped me get through my loneliness and then he passed away so I believe that God doesn't want you to be lonely and neither does your husband so enjoy this little creature he's with you for a reason

About the dog, talk to where your neighbors take their animals. When I was young I worked for a vet. They are a great source.

Try the Cullman Animal shelter. They have dogs on Petfinder. It is a blessing to have a little companion, mine is always happy to greet me when I get home, and it’s nice to have something living in your house. Thank you for the videos, I depend on your ideas for junk journals. I don’t know who will get them, but I love making them, and I have enjoyed you so much since my husband passed. I hope you will continue the tag journal, mine is waiting to be finished.

Look for something that is part poodle, like a pug/ poodle mix. There are all kinds of rescues and likely a pug rescue somewhere near you. Pugs are a companion animal and they love to either sit next to you or on your lap. We've had several pugs and they are very fun dogs. ❤️. Kudos to you for looking for a companion pet. I live alone and my dog, Maggie, is such a great companion.
