Yes, any kind would work. However I would highly suggest you use construction paper (or something thicker than regular printe paper), as its more sturdy and doesn't bend that easily.

Thank you! No, the wick doesn’t touch the paper - it just burns out :)

This is beautiful, just curious if this could be a fire hazard? You’re putting paper under a burning wick. Yes there is wax but that burn off during use, would the flame eventually reach the paper?

I've tried many times to just let the wick burn all the way down and extinguished itself. The fire never touches the paper and the wick simply just burns until it reached the metal part of the wickholder.

How long the candle has to burn before the massage can be seen?

About 15-20min - the wax has to get warm first before it gets seetrough :)

I use 464 for my candles. Does it have to be a particular type of wax? What size does the candle need to be?

No it doesn't have to be a specific type of wax - any would do :) The size is up to you - but its easier to see the message, if the candle is a tealight.

Was it a tealight? I haven’t tried using coloured candles, but if the candle wax becomes transparent it should work

You can use any type of pen as the paper won't burn when the wick is reaching the end

Hi, just came across your video, but I have a question, do you think we can use transparent sheets (that I print a message on with my printer)? Is it flammable? Also, isn't the construction paper flammable? I want to make wedding favors but don't want to cause any fires

I’m not sure about the transparent sheet - I haven’t worked with it before. But if it’s plastic and not paper, I wouldn’t use it. And the construction paper doesn’t become flammable as it soaks up the wax when the candle burns. I hope this helps :)

Does anyone have an idea on how to attach what message is inside? That is removable. My daughter would like to make and sell these at a kids' craft fair, but we need a way for the buyer to know which message they are buying. (She wants to do a few options.) We thought about signs, but people could easily mix them up. Thanks!

You can reuse the message if you want, and put it into another candle.

Construction paper is a thick kind of paper that is used alot when crafting. It’s quite durable and doesn’t rip or wrinkle as easily as regular printning paper can do. The weight of paper is measured in grams per squaremeter (gsm) and construction paper is at 180-200gsm while regular printning paper is at 80gsm 😊

Yes, the paper doesn't burn at all, because it gets soaked with candle wax :)

I’m not sure that would work - unless you want to create your own candle from scratch. Because you have to be aware of the wick and the placement of the card 🤔 But the card won’t burn, if it gets time to become completely soaked in the candle wax. I’m not sure if the card will have the time to get soaked enough if it’s placed in the middle of it🤔

Yes, the wick will burn down to the thing it's attached to. It never touched the paper, and the paper is soaked with the candle wax, so it doesn't brun. But then again, you should never leave a candle burning unattended.
