We are always shouting about creating generational wealth, but we must be equally focused on creating generational health. After all, there is no point in building wealth if you don't have good health.
Precious K. Williams is a Mommy Coach and Advocate who helps women create healthier habits, invest in self-care, and be the best versions of themselves.
On this episode of Girl Stop Playin, we're exploring ways black women can thrive in motherhood without losing themselves.

This was so helpful! I am a professor and I parent a child with special needs and I have been having difficulties with my health and weight. My efforts to prioritize my health have just turned into more frustration and imbalance, as I am simply adding labor such as grocery shopping, meal planning, cooking, packing my lunches, and making more time to work out to an already overflowing plate. Sometimes I'm up the half night prepping for the next day to try to be healthier, when I already don't get enough sleep because of my son's overnight needs. So I can't maintain it and fall back into my old habits of skipping workouts and eating out. It makes no sense. Saying that the first step needs to be to reduce your load makes so much more sense! People are always talking about baby weight but for me it is actually parenting weight. The stress, the lack of sleep, the making quick, easy, emotionally comforting choices instead of the healthier choices for food because you're just trying to survive and keep it all together. I am tired of the way people stigmatize mothers and our bodies while saying nothing and not really caring about how much we do. You're just supposed to somehow do more.
