@@SolusDarkcoat Well not every suicidal person shows it outwardly, it's plausible for the character to have been suicidal but they wrote him so it didn't show till it was too late.

No, that observation is retrospective. There were no indicators that he was suicidal because his leaving of the show wasn't planned. That's why it's a suicide.

@@aliince9372 True. But there might have been other ways to write him off. The writers apparently felt suicide was the most fitting option (on short notice). I think probably they did write him with that kind of unhappiness in mind (which should be no surprise, since all of the characters in the show are kind of unhappy in their own ways), only they unexpectedly had to dial it up to 11 suddenly to write him off.

Androshi Only the writers of House could make it so insightful what each team member gave while no actually showing. The book is from Taub because he really understands situations in an analytic way. In this case he knows that House is Holmes. The LP was from 13. It's something that you really have to know a person and then spend time and thought shopping for. When given to a coworker it's a big risk. 13 gives zero fucks about such risks. She goes big and plays hard with her own heart because she knows she doesn't have time to waste in life being afraid. The watch was from Kutner. A generic gift from the emotional opposite of 13. He's eager to please and always afraid that he can't connect with people, whatever that means. It's a neurotic and isolating way to live, and die.

People don't overthink because they saw something on TV once, it is because they have lived their whole lives where it is considered nice to not tell people the truth and say things to make them feel good.

Nah. It's probably that a lot of people tend to overthink and because that's a funny and relatable topic, it gets explored a lot in TV shows when they want to be witty and humourous.

Omnicate the most depressed people are often the most giving and care about making others happy because they don’t want anyone to feel unloved or unwanted the way they feel about themselves...I speak from experience there. When I wanted to kill myself I went all out on Christmas that year for everyone I knew even those I didn’t really like...I wanted them to know I still cared and that it wasn’t anyone’s fault. I didn’t go through with it honestly...seeing them smile when I did it, seeing them shocked that I cared enough to give out presents to them made me change my mind. I thought if I could at least make one person smile someone practically a stranger who I merely shared a class with smile by just making homemade sweets for them...then maybe I could stick around a little longer to let others know someone still cares...took me a long time but I don’t regret living.
