After the first Video i watched my reaction was " wtf thats crazy i wanna see chips flying like this too" and after that i alwyas looked how to push my Machine even if its just a small bit. Once i changed programm from 1mm in depth to 1.2mm. My coworkers told "it´s just 0.2 what is it even change". But every 5 Cuts i saved 1 pass. (On that part thats like 40 cuts less) Yes, it´s just on small thing. But many small things makes a big different at the end. So dont be scared to change a thing and save Time and Money. Be more scared to do the same thing over and over again.

Titan, i love how you have all this laid out and bring it across to us. Knowlege and understanding of your machines and tools you are able to push things further and do more. I feel that everything you are saying can also be applied to other aspects of our life and jobs as well. Hearing your passion and love for this is so infectious that it makes one want to bring more to what is done in one's life. BOOM

Titan, can we please address the elephant in the room that is never discussed, inflation, and companies profit margins, and these companies raise prices for inflation, but never the employees wage,now this doesn’t go for every company there are some good ones, but a huge reason why people my age aren’t entering this industry is now a days, in oregon at least, companies ask for an experienced 5 axis programmer blah blah 10 years experience plus, then offer them 25$ an hour, these companies for a long time have been taking advantage of keeping wages down, Iv been machining for 8 years now and I make 28.25 an hour, I can go work at Burger King now if I wanted and make over 30$ an hour as a manager, this isn’t a joke. If you guys did a video on something like this to help change this in the industry it would be awesome,yes it is hard as the only true way would be for everyone around the country to say enough and just stop working for these underpaying companies, but people aren’t going to do that . This isn’t a conspiracy either companies that do manufacturing around here do conspire to keep wages down and profit margins up. These corporations are being told by managers anyone can do our job and only want button pushers to keep wages down, half these ceos have literally no idea what makes them their money.
@ronblack7870
@ronblack7870 Год назад
you think their customers just accept price increases with no issue? the material has gone up like crazy so that increases costs as well. and yes there is something fundamentally wrong with our country if burger king needs to pay 25 / hr for a worker when pre 2020 it was under 15. we have seen it too in the factory . it doesn't matter anymore if you offer more money they will not work 40 hrs/ wk. and firing them is not an option. my theory is they only need 30k/ yr so now they get it with less hours and since they can they do that. work less but still make 30k.
@adammiller4879
@adammiller4879 Год назад
@@ronblack7870 No, they don’t, our biggest customer is Lam research for semiconductors and it took a year to get the price increase approved, but they increased the price of all our parts by 40%, meanwhile, we got a 7% increase in pay for inflation while inflation is over 20%, so I’m making even less than then 3 years ago, meanwhile, accounting for inflation the companies profit is sky high, while they lay people off in order to “cut cost” cause we are slow with this while Biden ban on China dealing with semiconductors. And I honestly think those people you’re talking about just don’t want to work in general, I’m the last of a dying breed of hard workers.

Great video Titan. Becoming the best version of yourself requires an upgraded mindset. The only thing holding the majority of people back is their limiting beliefs. I've always loved the Henry Ford quote “Whether you think you can, or you think you can't - you're right”. He changed the world with his mindset..🤯

Great information. Human nature is to develop the robotic habits and have scales form over their eyes which leads to being comfortable. We see it in every trade. We see the street workers taking hours to dig a hole with 4 people standing around. I like what you said first about vision and a mindset which is attitude at the base. Attitude determines altitude in my book. Much love and gratitude for continuing to deliver great content.

I feel its equally important to consider Radial Engagement. A feed rate of 10,000mm/min with a 1mm width of cut, 20mm Depth of cut will remove the same material per minute as a 5,000mm/min cut with a 2mm width of cut, same depth of cut. Running faster feed rates also accelerates linear component wear (very minimal I know) and often doesn't allow you to catch mistakes in time such as; stock not against part stop etc.

Great content, I have not furthered my CNC certificate into Machinist, Programer, or Tool and Die. I have Precision CNC Machine Operator Certificate 2016, the shop hired me as an evaluation mechanic. The lathes and mills are only manual, with operator position not available likely due to “mind set”. Certification experience on HAAS lathe and little on Chiron Mill, Master Cam and Micron table with ruby or Safire tip CMM. I need more hands on creativity application and freedom

As a small shop owner of over 25 years, I have seen the shrinking of manufacturing not because we can't push our machines, but the lack of good customers. Pay has been stagnant for decades. Competition with overseas has eroded most of the work except aerospace and medical. Try getting into those fields!!! Seen many great machinist and shop owners leave this field for others because of $$$$. Compare what machinist make to other trades to realize how underpay-ed this segment is. Not all shop can or are willing to drop millions in high end machinery and tooling just to compete. If you don't have your product line or be a tier 1 customer to a large aerospace company then how can you afford such expensive cnc's?

I partially agree, but for a workshop that produces small-series fabric, it makes no sense to rush the machine to a large scale and at high speed, if we are talking about a machine that is bought for pre-arranged orders, then even there it can run 24/7 and everything to the limit (big removal, feed) and in 2 years the machine will be thrown away... and the drive will continue.

CNC machining company owner with +20 year old machine be like: Invest 250k dollars on a new 5 axis machine - NO| buy a new sports car for 250k dollars - YES! This is the mentality of today's bosses, they want production to be efficient with machines that are over 20 years old and low quality tools that barely manage to guarantee tolerated quotas. I'm not saying it's all, but that's the general picture. They don't invest in new machines, or in training the operator/programmer, much less reward them if they manage to work miracles with old equipment. It's sad but it's reality...
