Must try your double sided loop method, Ads. I normally do it using the same method as with boat lines. You make each of the loops a bit smaller than the previous one and on each loop you twist the cable to release the tension which causes the 8-loops. That forms a nice orderly package.

Try it, @ari.voutilainen. It might need a bit of practice at first 👍👍

I do second method except allways have a wonder wipe thingy in my hand so cable allways clean and then put in a cable bag. Quicker ,cleaner and less bulky than a reel. Also I carry two cables 15m and 25 m and can join if 40m needed.

Good bit of advice Ads. I do a similar thing but I start in the middle and create the loop by putting a small twist in the cable which will allow the cable to from its own loop, I then repeat it on the other half of the cable. This is the method used on yachts when coiling the sheets/ropes and allows them to be stowed by hanging them up. Simple 👍👍👍😎

Don't forget to ALWAYS plug the female end of the lead in first. That way you don't walk around with the live pins on the male connection accessible to touch. If you coil the cable onto a spool with the male end first, you will have to plug the female end into the side of the van first, avoiding the pitfall.

Thanks for the tips, @DudleyDellTelly 👍👍. I thought I'd make a video just about tangles. My other EHU video can be found here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-onKe2cBzfIM.html

Nice one Ads. 👌Thanks for sharing. What always annoys me is when people with cables on a reel do not completely unwind them, they seem oblvious to the danger.

Missing a few things. Temperature and cables frozen acting like fishing rods. Especially orange cables. I use black silicone non tangle low temperature cable. No reel needed. Also safety first plug into van first then into site power box. So that you are are not holding wet live cable to plug into.van. Fully unwind cable so it doesn't overheat. George

@@HermanHitstheRoadA reel is a major pain in small motorhomes or campervans as it takes up too much space. Also they suffer from wire damage on the connector that dangles about close to reel when winding cable up. Cheers from grumpy George

With both cables and hoses, once coiled, if both ends are connected together it is then impossible for them to become knotted and tangled 🖖
