Indeed when i first started fillet weld i was not getting both side covered and thought to myself maybe i got a junk machine but with the help of friendly facebook member , i was told running amperage and suggest that i crank it up to 80a instead of the 60a the weld rod manufacturer states. And it solved the problem wich i could share the photos but dang youtube still does not allow images to be posted in the comment section?
good job, now the same but now a 5 mm flat 90 agrees on this heavy piece of metal! than you cant weld like this. with every material that you weld you have to look to your melting Bath. there is not one rule but you have to understand wat you are doing. the temprature/amps, the thicknes of the stick, the thicknes of the materials. and how you hold the stick.
And it's strength never lessens same as uphill welding. . No one said can be done according to them as said. I did . Yet they say still can't be done . Hmmm.
If a 7018 rod burning slang word . No chipping or little chipping needed. . First part could have been fer vid proposes then actual weld . Still cool vid
A good weld can look God but be like solder only lay on top . No penetration. Or a bad weld that has penetration but looks bad on top can hold hell on it's henges. . Or both great weld with penetration and looks good . . I've seen some bad welds on some expensive machines . Looks good but penetration is like laying solder from solder iron it just laid on top of the metal with no penetration . Ok like a glue on a block and can break off same thing. .. still cool 😎 vid . No one has ever done a 7018 rod burning down hill. . it's strength is the same as uphill. Just pay attention.
Thats because the weld will have slag inclusion. You should show everyone downhill with 7018 then do a cut and etch test on the weld. Maybe then you might figure out why welders only run 6010 and 6011 downhill because they are a fast freeze rod. Dont go welding any bridge plates or any other critical structure until you figure out what slag inclusion is and how it is caused.
@@b.p.rwebber8098 I've seen some vids that did that they shaved off a weld to show opening were the weld didn't weld right . And one can down weld on 7018 . I don't have the money to do what y'all do on video lol. Merry Christmas to y'all.
