@@MediocreAtBest_Ginafer sorry to hear that I'm a professional carpet cleaner and prespray should be left on for a maximum of 15 min it shouldn't be allowed to dry also after I clean carpets are usually dry to the touch in just over 2 hours

Wow that's crazy. If I had to guess, they had a piece of equipment break or ran out of chemical or just wanted to go home, so they told you a lie about how long the prespray needed to dwell. That's just horrible. I'm sorry to hear about your experience.

No in fact oxiclean contains proteolytic enzymes and most detergents contains protease and or lipases

In all honesty I've never even considered that. I've just trusted what my supplier and my experience tell me. I will definitely ask my supplier about this. Great question!

I just asked the same question. Form the safety data sheets I’ve read, oxi cleaners are generally hydrogen peroxide, or sodium per carbonate etc, and enzymes cleaners actually have bacteria in them that produce the specific enzymes, so I don’t know what the first reply is talking about, given it says it all on the safety data sheets? I agree, it takes time for bacteria to not only produce the enzymes, but then also for the enzymes to degrade the proteins that are causing the stains/odours etc, from what I’ve read, so I’m totally confused by this too. I can only imagine that if carpet were needed to be done in 3-4 stages over several days, it would be extremely expensive, labour intensive, and probably too inconvenient and impractical for most customers and carpet cleaning businesses.

@waffle_chair9269 Time constraints are definitely relevant. I would guess one would be better off pre-treating with bacteria-based liquid alone, let the bacteria work on it a while (maybe hours), then do any oxi-type cleaners. Need a hero like Project Farm to do a test? 😀

That is not a simple question while there are definitely a lot of carpet cleaners who find one pre spray that basically throws the whole book at your carpet I'm not really a fan of these cleaners . There are different soil type as well as carpet materials and amount of soil. For example pet stains throw up blood (basically any biological stain) should be treated with either enzymes or\and oxidizers , if the carpet is polyester I'll add a splash of degreaser because polyester is hydrophobic water based stains are super easy to extract but it holds on to oil for dear life . Nylon is pretty much the opposite. I guess to answer your question my favorite free spray is the one I mix up for the job I'm doing but to give you an answer that might help you a little bit more the one I probably use the most is made by Judson labs called o2 it has a great scent works extremely well on damn near everything the pH is low enough to not make colors run it's even safe on wool

@@213BRANDONP What's your ideal pre-spray/conditioner for biological stains, and what's your go to rinsing agent? And is it better to always use an acidic rinse with a lower pH?
