I remember how I got my He-Man in 2008. I came home from work and there it was. My package from mattycollector in front of my door. I remember how exited I was. The very first He-Man had a light red shadow around his eyes and I didn.t like that. Later, I got a He-Man-head without that red shadow. I used to take pics of my figures in the woods and it never looked good with that red shadow. I `m obssesed with He-Man. I also have a He-Man tattoo on my chest ( and Skeletor on my shoulder and Fisto on my lower leg).
MOTUC are the greatest line since the vintage originals and I put them on equal par. Personally I love the red eyed He-Man, to the degree that I specifically sought out that version when purchasing him. The hoary red eyes make him appear even more battle hardened. I don’t know why so many people disliked it, I was convinced it was a deliberate feature when I first saw it.
@@ryverchoy1370 Oh yeah, dude. Over the years, there was constant bitching in fan groups. Some of it was over legit concerns, but some of the vitriol people used to spout was pretty vile and was directed at Scott personally because I guess people don't know how to be civil adults. Full disclosure: I had a few gripes too about various issues, but never resorted to personally attacking anyone over it. At the end of the day, I'm very happy with my expansive Classics collection. I get so much joy out of staring at those figures, it's ridiculous. Without Scott, it truly wouldn't have happened!
CaptainStarlight Good gawd..... so what was the fans complaining about??? I mean the motuc line lasted from 2008-2015 and I’d say it was doing quite well. Well enough for a castle to be made. I wished the motuc continued bcus I really hate the S7 build quality and the looks of filmation style.
I Really enjoy your videos, the precision and the information is really GREAT! It is hard to get those MOTUC here in México, but I really love the new approach. Thanks for the information.
Hey Scott, bless you man for doing this and creating one of the best modern toylines, ever. I had no idea this was a complete passion project for you and the fact you spent your spare time, making it happen. I've always wanted, even as a kid, cross sell art style MOTU figures. I sincerely apologize for judging and criticizing you on the ORG in the past. I stand humbled and corrected sir. Thank you so much brother. 🤘👍
Thanks for the content you've been producing! In recent years, the Motu brand has really captivated me and I've amassed a nice, small collection of Classics and of them all, He-Man will always be my favorite.
Thank you so much for sharing this incredible insight! I became a MotU fan with 200X and when the Classics were announced I'd only planned to get the first few figures, well flashforward and I ended up sticking with the line right until it left Mattel, pretty much collecting every figure. It was one of the best action figure ranges out there! Thanks again for all your hard work on the line, and I can't wait to watch more!
LOL! For a moment or two, Scott, you almost like a skit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail! "So we got the money, and we got the tooling, and we made our first He-man! And he sank into the swamp, so we made a second He-man, that sank into the swamp, we made a third He-man, that caught on fire melted down and sank into the swamp, but the FOURTH He-man stayed up! And that's what you fans got, the strongest man in this here universe!"
And all because of them focusing on a movie that still hasn’t seen the light of day when they should have been directing their attention towards making a cartoon in the intervening years before 2021.
Awesome videos Scott! I remember when you personally stepped in to help with an order issue I had early on in the line. Thank you for all of your hard work and for reviving MOTU!
Another great video!!! I feel like this MOTUC is to toys as the MCU is to movies. There was someone in charge that was a fan and passionate for the property and that is why they both were successful.
That is cool, I remember him from the magazine, thought he was cool except the head and then I never saw him again, glad the dude who won the contest finally got the figure made. Did he contact you by any chance?
Would like to hear the in depth truth of why you left Mattel or why they let you go. Also, what you had in the works for MOTUC before you left and what figures you wanted to see and didn’t. Big thanks to you Scott for the awesome MOTUC and Club Grayskull figures you delivered! Thanks for these videos too😎👍🏻👍🏻
I will do a video called "The decline and fall of Mattycollector" in the near future and will address many of these questions. Thanks for the support! Please be sure to share and spread the word about the channel. It would be most appreciated.
to be honest the first time i heard the term adult collector was in this line. and oh yes the (in)famous reversed shoulders, I remember that. i'd have liked to buy more figures but here in my country the prices were from a bit more than double to three times the U.S. regular price. and i had to quit the line.
Beautiful wish o had seen it in my comic store . I'm curious why did you not make the original head like super7 did? Jealous of dream job I loved seeing this soon as I saw it in print
The 4HM wanted to give HeMan in Classics a head that referenced all previous releases, but eventually the Mattel MOTUC Oolarr came with the vintage head which Super 7 also used.
Can you go more in depth about how the reversed shoulders happened? I understand it may be sensitive, but if you're going to pull back the curtain I'm sure a lot of fans would love to hear how something like that happens!
They hired a plastic goods factory that was used to put together stuff made in 2, 3, maybe 4 parts together, and gave them the challenge of putting together action figures made of, what, 2 dozen parts maybe? Of course there would be screw-ups.
He calls this video secrets of He-Man and how toys are made he doesn't mention how he single-handedly ruin the he-man franchise and toy during his time at the Maddie collectibles he put his face on a character made a character that was basically him that was the most powerful character in The He-Man series he also stole from Joe Amato sky High unforgivable....
Have you seen the video on sky high that Joe came on to discuss this? I also did a video specifically on how companies can’t recongnize fan creations legally. Might answer some of your concerns!
@@spectorcreative1872 so because you can't answer him legally that gives you the right to plagiarize and steal from him you should be ashamed of yourself for even trying to use that as an excuse to justify it shame shame you're a thief who failed in the toy industry please tell me how you're a toy guru what's your experience other than sinking Maddie collectibles and getting kicked out of Mattel
@@spectorcreative1872 you stole from Joe Amato and now you're justifying it that guy came up with the concept of sky High he named it and now you're stealing and saying oh I don't owe him nothing pathetic and Petty you are and you should be ashamed of yourself you do not have the toy collector or fans at bet your best interest you only care about yourself and getting back in the toy industry and crushing other innocent people if you have to you should be ashamed of yourself
