Hello and welcome to another CJU playthrough. If you would like to avoid hearing echoes as you fall into an abyss then like the video right now or else
Hi CJU! Creator of the game here! :> Thank you so much for playing through my game and sharing it with your community!! It was really fun and interesting to see someone else play through it (besides my playtesters of course)! Also reading through the comments is lots of fun, some of you are spot on with your theories about the story! 👀 I am also sorry the ending is more of a let down and that the game was missing more interaction in various ways and horror, I’m really not a strong programmer, 3D artist or animator so many things I did have planned simply weren’t possible for me :’) Since this was done as my graduation project of studying game creation, I only had 5 months to make this game from start to finish, hence the unfinished vibes perhaps! ;v; I appreciate the love this is getting nonetheless and hope it was enjoyable! Thank you! ♡ Lots of Love! Yumii :3
Thank you for giving more context to the game development…maybe you can finish it or at least provide more lore…I was hooked on the story and was hoping for at least some of the questions answered…
@@HeVn7LaO aw thank you! I appreciate the interest!! Maybe I’ll revisit the game and improve it some day ♡ but no promises, I was planning on not having to code (ever) again and to work on art for games instead, I’ll see what I’ll do :D ♡
Could you imagine he just ended the video right after he left. 13 second horror game. Always love your sense of humor. Thanks for all the videos you push out!
I absolutely love it when CJU introduces the game and follows with "And if you would also like to [witty use of game title here], the links are in the description for you." He says it so pleasantly that I can't help but think in response "Why, I'd be delighted to [game title with horrific-sounding experience]!"
It's always fun when you have the option to leave. It just makes the game feel a bit more complete as *you* chose to keep going and *you* went willingly down this path.
The puzzles are pretty good in this one, not just a fetch random numbers quest but things you have to think a little bit about, but also not frustrating.
It looked like we were losing consciousness at the end there. The pit was giving off visible fumes of some sort, so my guess is it ended with us passing out and falling into the abyss. I kind of like that it left things open-ended, though. It makes me wonder what would have happened if we left after getting the key.
You've become my favourite youtuber when it comes to videogames. I really appreciate your style, it's really entertaining and relaxing at the same time.
chris, your channel is my absolute favorite on RU-vid. I hope you will keep doing this for a long long time, thank you for doing what you do and I hope that you will keep growing immensely. 😊
Was this an intro, because it felt very much that it was a student project or an intro that requires more investment to make into a full scale game. I was hooked and the atmosphere was really creepy. I started holding the phone farther from my face which is my usual sign that I’m sufficiently spooked! Thanks for introducing us to this one
Very cool story! Lockdown syndroms and eerie feelings surrounded by dead bodies really builds the atmosphere. And all those puzzles, once again, was no match for your logical skills Chris.
Hmm. Interesting how the hallucinations act up harder when the music starts playing. Maybe there were infrasounds or something similar hidden in the music, and when combined with chemicals that mess up your brain, the damage escalates.
Also, once she found the warning and the lock door it offered the question to leave or continue i wonder if you left would of this show a scene her destroying the whole complex to me this would have been the ideal ending or it being lock down for good and to me it would have made sense she seen all this blood that was not real so staying would have been foolish to do so even though it was all not real but the fact remains she seen it show some kind of side effect. Also, the dead bodies they were real but not sure due to how long was this incident and her going there some things seem a bit confusing and not cleared up on the video.
chris! I just wanted to say that you’re my absolute favorite youtuber. i’ve been watching youtube avidly for over 10 years and you’re the only person I regularly keep up with. you give off the best vibe, and you play some of the best games. you’re the first place I come to after a bad day and you always make it better. keep it up. you’re amazing. I never comment on youtube videos but I just wanted to let you know how much of an impact you’ve made 😁🩷
Been down in the archives watching Resident Evil 1. That was a trip and a half😁! Now I have lots of videos to catch up on, and am SO enjoying Echoes From the Abyss. Kudos to the creator. The thing with the blood appearing and disappearing is different and really cool. I'm perfectly intrigued and hooked. Thanks, Chris!
Hello and welcome to another CJU playthrough. If you would like to avoid hearing your own screams bouncing off the walls of the abyss like the video now, you have been warned!
Perhaps you weren't so much halucinating but phasing in and out of different points in time. These games get tedious when they're set during a specific era but have modern key cards, keypads and computers. Maybe game devs should watch the 70s version of The Andromeda Strain to get an idea of the tech that set designers envisioned would be used in top secret underground facilities.
What a trippy game. Reminds me of Silent Hill a bit , just bloodier... I would've added some more interactions but creepy old bunkers & possible hallucinations + actual paranormal / odd happenings now & then , good...really provides the kind of atmosphere one should want for a horror game.
Never forget i learn and understand english.. So perfecting my English better than my french and Netherland language (German) so it's always nice game to discovered and pleasures to et we go back here like you lvd say and i live in luxembourg unbelievable game 😮😮❤❤❤
Dr. Schmidt: "If your primitive brain is tempted by a red button, stay out of the chemical lab." CJU: "But it's so _red!"_ 🤣 Yup, leaving before the game really began might have been the best option. The game was meh, imo. A few okay puzzles, a _potentially_ good story, not scary, and a real let-down ending. More threat and a definite, creepy ending could have elevated the whole thing. CJU's commentary, of course, made it worth watching.
I completely agree. There was so much potential with what the chemicals were doing to the soldiers that was never paid off. The last we heard, one of them was freaking out, but that was it. There was also no reason to believe any of the blood we saw was real, as there were multiple instances of it appearing and disappearing. The game was doing a decent job of building up mystery, making you wonder if any of it was real, and it ends with the main character presumably passing out and drowning in a pool of mysterious fluid. Keep in mind that one note seemed to indicate the mysterious liquid had no adverse effects before it is split into the four chemicals. Honestly, the biggest red flag for me was the escape room style puzzle in the communications room. Really? Some guy's locker combo is the cardinal directions to the four closest allied military bases in order of least to greatest distance? Having worked at an escape room ... I'm not surprised to see it here, but in a video game where you aren't bound by the physical costs of building puzzles, there are so many more in-universe options than a direction lock which happens to correspond to a note someone typed in the hours before the base was abandoned.
It reminds me of some movie i watch that all the chemical did was drive them all nuts, and they kill them self's and others maybe this was what happen to her due to you entering the area of the found site of the liquid itself. Who really knows they left us at the end like a cliff hanger joke on the curiosity kills the cat.
Except that you're not the first. The first person is always the uploaders as they know the content is already. The second person is the person who actually watches all of the content to make the relevant comments based on it. Considering it's a 45-minute video and their videos only been out for 11 minutes that means there is no second person right now
Not streaming BG3 Chris lmao. Thanks for that! Too many phoney's hijacking franchises when they couldn't give a crap about the actual game medium or less than 100k online players. Thankfully we have CJU to paruse the good and the shite of the horror genre. F the clicks. I remember when you had a few hundred subscribers (including me) at the time of Scratches haha. As for this effort, I'm strangely reminded of the original Deux Ex (without the fantastic music). Try not to spill your drink. I have to say though, the bloody keypad puzzle was fucking genius, you did it in 30 seconds. This short game, comfortably above average.
There are definitely games where I don’t mind ambiguous endings, but this isn’t one of them. This just seems like a cheat, as if the developer ran out of ideas.
I would laugh my butt off if you one day just posted a video leaving, like a two minute video. Then posted like a completely unrelated video after for a make up video. Then maybe a few days later we got the video of you choosing to stay.😂
ending reminds me of Grey hill incident. but it is actually worse. this was a very mediocre game. i wish developers would stop uploading things like this. makes it harder to find games that are worthwhile...
Great game !! Horrible ending .. way too abrupt devs .. come one a 40 minute game with spooks and puzzles and then that ? Love hate relationship I suppose
