Secrets of the Desert (Mystery Map, Spaniards & Butch Cassidy) - Uintah Basin, Utah

Filmed at various locations around the Uintah Basin Utah.
Special thanks to my brother for giving me permission to film and share the Spanish Crosses.
The painted deserts found throughout North Eastern Utah still remain largely untouched and many mysteries still remain to be unlocked. Good Luck.

Basinite - I find your videos to be quite entertaining. I've been researching the Uintah history for a while. I love the exploration aspect, the remoteness of the locations, history, subject matter, music and the lack of verbal communication. It inspires me to explore and allows me to ponder of all the possibilities. Fantastic approach to film making. Keep them coming.

Thank you and I'm glad you enjoy my specific approach. I hope you take up more exploring, many wonderful things waiting to be re-discovered out there. I spend much of my leisure time exploring the mountains and deserts. I rarely see a soul out there. Not many people venture off the trails now days. Good luck and stay safe.

I super appreciate getting to see all of this. I kept yelling at the screen tho "STOP TOUCHING THINGS" You are not supposed to touch it, run your fingers over things etc...but then I remembered what I read. Some of this was when you were younger, with your brother or what not. I'd have done the same most likely AND I'm Native American. Where I live tho, we are allowed to pick up, hunt, finders keepers for artifact, points etc....This place here at the end. Damn those stones are knarly. Just kinda out there alone. I digress. THANK YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH.

Yes sir, it is. I think I like the Uintah Basin so much because you have a bit of everything; Mountains, Desert Canyons, Desert Basins, River Valleys, High Country Plateau's and then some. Beautiful piece of the planet.

My man, your videos continue to rock my world week after week. Thank you for sharing your knowledge- giving us additional data to try and connect the seemingly endless amount of Great Basin dots together. How many people do you think carry knowledge of these hidden/secret sites in the GB area?
@LowBudgetExploration

You are very welcome and thank you. To answer your question; not very many. Most of my Great uncles, Grandparents and Great Grandparents (I knew most of them when a child), were sheep herders or cattle men. They spent all summer in the saddle herding their flocks on Forest and BLM lands. Those guys knew a lot! I remember as a child setting by the camp fire while camping or hunting listening to their stories. My fathers generation retained some, but forgot other stuff as they became pre-occupied with a changing world. My generation doesn't know much and has forgotten most. My kids generation doesn't know sh*t. Moral of the story, with each passing generation we lose more and more of our history. Sad.

@@LowBudgetExploration Beyond words sad! This is why your channel is so crucial. Are you also planning on releasing content on the paranormal side of the great basin as well? It would be interesting to get your take on portal travel and its connection with the ancient inhabitants of the Basin.

@@KingMosiah801 I have personal theories on that sort of stuff (as I'm sure most people do), but I keep it private and don't make my thoughts public. We see UFO's from time to time, I have posted 2 videos on this channel. I have other videos, but I keep them private. I really don't mess around with that sort of stuff.

Read your answer. You described the man who gave me my first elk hunting lessons. His storys were hard to beleive, but I know they were true. I watched him track and wounded elk across an area where I could see nothing. And I thought I was a tracker. I tracked since boyhood 70 years ago. I found him at the right time 40 years ago. I have tracked up many more since then and I will never be as good as him. He took a lot of game from horseback in his day. I was living in Grand Junction, CO. I have explored many areas as faciating as you show, many in Utah but never seen your stuff. I may hav ebeen around but not so I could look behind that more remote mountain. Been a lot of places Butch and Sundance passed by too! Keep it up.

@@LowBudgetExploration I lived in Grand Junction in the late seventys. I loved it, facinated and learned to elk hunt. I have a friend whose uncle took us elk huntign to teach us. We learned much in one season but the old man had herded sheep for thirty years on the desert mesas around Junction. I heard many storys no one could match. I became an excellent elk hunter but I never once sat on my horse and shot two deer with one shot. He had did it five times feeding himself in the wilderness. I thought I was a tracker and in most camps in my life I was the camp beagle. The old man was showing me where a wounded elk crossed the dirt road one time. I could not see a thing. But I believed him and killed the elk that day.

I wish that site still existed, I would love to show it and document it. I have the turtle at some property I own. The dynamite cracked it in half and destroyed most of the outer layer, but you can still tell its a turtle. Truly a shame. It is illegal to do what they did.

This is why private projects on federal ands should be subject to evaluation pursuant to the National Environmental Protection Act. Even if a destructive project receives government approval to move forward there will have been created a comprehensive record of all cultural and natural resources.

@LowBudgetExploration
@LowBudgetExploration Год назад
LOL. It does sorta look like Noah's Ark or something like that. I think it represents a canyon and the cross means continue through the canyon (follow the cross). There is a major canyon complex not far from the site, which leads you to the Uinta Mountains where they had their mines.
@peterwaksman9179
@peterwaksman9179 Год назад
@@LowBudgetExploration Looks more like a story about a boat at different times. The "cross" does suggest Spaniards but I don't think there is anything like these glyphs in Spain. There are some in Scandinavia, where the Viking longboat is done as a petroglyph like this. Thanks for the great pictures!

Four questions: How do you photograph such marvelous views, a drone? Why do you not use voice audio instead of print? I think the distinctive Native American vocal would add much credibility. (note: I imagined your heritage from the view of your hands) What does "Basinite" mean? and last but not least, Please, Please, Please share the music source. It is as mesmerizing as the views.

Response to your questions: 1. I hike (sometimes for many hours) to get to the locations I film. All filming is done on my cell phone. All I pack with me is two bottles of water, a can of chew and my phone. I try to travel light so I can cover more ground quickly. 2. I chose to make silent films with unique music playing in the background. I will never receive any money for my videos because of the copy right issues, but I don't do it for money and love to document these sites and share with other people such as yourself. 3. I am from the Uintah Basin (where all my videos are filmed). In my Grandfathers time we were all called "Basinite's". Its a term that has fallen out of use, but I try and keep the tradition alive. 4. The first song is from the movie "Book of Eli. The second song is from Conan the Barbarian (or Destroyer). Here is a link to the 3rd song. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9Zgqn24mjw8.html

@@reshephyisraaldawnoftheawa7990 I belong to the Anglo Saxon Tribe, just kidding. I'm a mixture of all sorts of European Ancestry. All of us from North Eastern Utah used to be called "Basinite's" pronounced; Bay-Sin-ights because we were born and raised in the Uintah Basin. That's all its means, it's not a tribal identification or anything like that.

Why would the state of Utah allow such treasures be destroyed is beyond compression.

This all occurred on Federal Land (Bureau of Land Management). The company looked the other way and didn't disclose that archeological sites were found in the area. They didn't want to deal with any "red tape". Total BS.

I'm glad you enjoy the videos, I'm currently working on another one and should be able to upload today or tomorrow. The Butch Cassidy is in a very remote area near the Green River out in the desert country. It is in a area were very few people go (they would probably get lost) and is almost impossible to find. This has protected it and kept people from trying to put their names next to it and etc.
