Love these breakdown videos. It will definitely save me money and more packs to open. Looking to buy some hobby boxes and pull some Volpe fire. 🔥 Awesome graphics!
I’m 13 years old, and I just purchased this box yesterday from my local card shop for $90 as an end of the school year gift and it’s cool that Topps has improved the hobby box and the odds are better it seems that I have made a great choice by only buying fat packs and hangers when I buy retail 😂, I also like that I got both Josh Jung and Jordan Walker rookie cards in the same pack!
Such an amazing breakdown on which format to buy and which format to avoid. Thanks for saving us money Stryker! The time & effort you've spent making this video is much appreciated by everyone, whether we know it or not. Thanks brother 🙏
Thanks Stryker! I just got back into collecting this yr and your baseball breakdown vids have helped a ton. I've had alot of fun with Bowman blasters and retail boxes and now I'll be grabbing some Topps hobby. Thank you for your efforts!
Pulled a Corbin Carroll Home Field Advantage foil card AND a base card foil from a retail box, PLUS a Julio Rodriguez 2022 Home Field Advantage foil from a hobby box. Was not expecting them at all!! Very surprised and happy to have pulled those cards. 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Stryker Breakdowns are the best. Topps is listening to you for sure. And they should! Now if we can get them to make hanger bangers again please down wait until update. I have made my decision on what S2 product I will be buying thanks to this video. Thx again!!!!!
Picked up some cases for christmas break, one case hobby s1, s2 and update. I'm halfway through s2 case and its already crushed the s1 hobby case. Wish I would have seen this before.
Thank you for the great 2023 Topps Series 2 value and production video. It’s so cool to see the numbers on a spreadsheet. I too noticed the reduced odds in Hobby and preordered several. I may need to buy some of those blue, purple and gold (my favorite) foil cards. I’m a big fan of Topps revealing the format odds and checklist before the release. Thanks again and good luck pulling those bangers!!!
series one jumbo for me, had print roller marks on average 50 to 60 cards per box that i purchased, 3 jumbos and a ton of damaged cards. hobby was fine. lcs sells hobby way less than posted prices
Always appreciate the work you put into these breakdown videos Stryker! I only bought singles from series one, just might buy some series 2 hobby this time around.
I really like the purple cards, the store i go to guarantees 1 purple every pack, but it's like $5 for 16 cards. I still grab a few every time because they look cool to me. Thank you for breaking down the drop rates like this, i bought a couple blaster packs before and i see now it's not the best way to go.
Thanks Stryker! Took your advice & bought 2 hobby boxes this weekend. 1st was a dud, but 2nd was amazing…Corbin Carroll HFA & Stone Garrett RC Golden Mirror SSP! Not sure of value on either, but I’m happy. Thanks again! :)
Interesting breakdown. I think I'll buy a couple hobby but mainly focus on the hangers are bangers theory that proved correct in 22 Update. Thank you Stryker for your great content.
I've ripped 3 hobby and didn't do so well. No auto, best card overall is a Gerrit Cole game worn card worth about 6$. Ripped a few hangers and pulled a few purples and a sweet auto (first auto ever). Just my experience though, and I normally don't pull "good" cards.
Thanks for the breakdown. I like that retail seems to have some value again. Only made it about 1/2 way thru the video before I preordered some hobby boxes. It will be interesting to see if a card to /999 or /799 will have more or less value than an unnumbered blue or rainbow foil.
I would think they have a lot more value than unnumbered rainbow foil and royal blue, but time will tell. I can say that I would rather have the new numbered retail exclusives.
@stryker breaks getting back into the hobby and came across this video and i love this type of content! I have one question though, why are there two price columns for Hobby?
Love these videos you put out, just another OUTSTANDING and informative Stryker breaks video. Will have to try and get my hands on a Hobby or two will definitely be grabbing lots of hanger and fat packs once they show up at my Wally World. Thanks for the hard work you put into these videos for us and you and your family have a good, safe and blessed weekend.
I'm new to baseball cards. What is the best value for the 2023 Update Series Hobby, Jumbo or Blaster? Or are getting the series 2 more worth right now?
Great vid! I passed on the jumbos during the topps drop. I thought $199 was way to much. Glad I didnt buy them. I was able to find the hobby boxes for $85 shipped and I ordered 3 of those.
Thanks for that breakdown Stryker. I was so on the fence about buying any boxes for series 2. Jumbo's were looking too pricey and Hobby has always been hit or miss in the past couple years for me. I'm def going with a couple hobby boxes and will be going after retail hangers this time around! From a fellow Michigander, Thanks!
It doesn't shock me how much Topps changed production for Series 2. Retail for Series 1 is going to be lingering around for forever! I'm assuming we'll be seeing some clearance pricing on those once Series 2 has been out for a while.
Great vid. But of course production is down from s1. I dont think that was in question. You should have shown production vs 2022 series 2. If i remember correctly you compared 2023 series 1 to 2022 in that video.
Is it better to buy the entire series 1 & 2 Topps box at Walmart for $60? Sometimes at the end of the current baseball seasons you can get the boxes and $50 if they still have them left. I’ve saving Topps boxes 1 & 2 since my son was born in 2012. I don’t know if the Topps will be worth anything.
@@StrykerBreaks I think you would see pretty good numbers from Jumbo if you took $40 (two silver packs) and whatever you think the box topper is worth.
you can basically subtract 20% from the hobby prices........................which creates friggin insane price points, thank you stryker and thank you topps/fanatics for the early heads up.
Corbin carroll is a absolute monster going after him heavy. I cannot believe they left off spencer steer. Guess they need a good player to sell update 😅
Spencer is on there, he's got a couple auto's too, hopefully he keeps hitting and maybe pushes corbin for NL ROY, admittedly I'm a Reds Fan so.........
@Geno_OSU2000 your right! Idk I watched a breakdown that had the top 10 rookies and he wasn't on it so I was assuming he wasn't in it cause imo he's the clear number 2 possibly could be 1 behind or with corbin carroll
I got a box of 2023 topps series one blaster box. I pulled a ronald acuna jr autographed city connect card, numbered /25. Any idea how much that would be?
