I find Ivan’s points very interesting. I agree with his comments about the customer’s perspective and shop cleanliness. I have access to other QUATS solution that are of the same concentration and effectiveness as Barbicide, but I always turn to Barbicide blue in a Barbicide jar for my combs and other implements. Customers are very familiar with that solution and jar combination which represents clean! Implementing Ivan’s suggestions are not that difficult and in fact easy to implement.
Thanks alot for this. I'm a Barber with my own Unisex Barber Salon. I haven't started yet, but I will atend one client at a time and only by appointment. Taking there temperature on their hand and putting antibacterial on their hands before they go in....Disinfecting everything for next client. I can work my days, my time and with my rules. Disinfecting. I also will be wearing gloves per client.
I don't feel it should be an option for clients to wear mask, but I get around it by having my clients remove it just at the point of shaving the beard, one thing I have noticed once you as the barber not wearing one, clients can become a bit uneasy especially those who believe barbers should follow the protocols as laid out by the health authorities, am following the conversation Ivan Zoot good conversation
Build your ppe into your price. And raise your prices!! The "blue" jar is what clients look for and spraying your clippers in front of the client is important!! Makes the client feel safe.
Now that we are Legally on SHUT DOWN MODE again. It appears that making Sanitation and Serialization very visible to all clients and co-workers is far more important to everyone who comes through our doors. As soon as industry workers loosen up on masks, hand washing, temperature taking, door handles, chair, station & restroom sterilization.... it's not ONLY the clients , but co-workers also. Everyone needs to be reminded that "We are in this together"!
I am very concerned about clients who feels sensitive to wearing masks at my barbershop, but I do wear one and insist on my clients wear one, I just cannot compromise my health just to do a haircut, sorry folks am not in a hot spot area but am simply not taking any chances
Thank you for sharing this video. I have had a plethora of conversations relating to this material. I own a studio space in my residence. I have consistently sanitized in my present methodology, sans wearing the mask. I do not have the "social experience", but my clients are feeling safe. They see my sanitation certifications on my wall, they witness some of the cleaning and they see my eye makeup efforts because I am working in a mask😂😂😂. I require my clients to wear them, as well. I did raise my price point with no issues. Best wishes from Marquette MI. #Studio1923
Things are tricky now cause business is slow and to charge the clients that remain coming more money how? I’m a barbershop owner in a military town it’s bad enough that I charge everyone $20 no military discount it’s hard getting new clients
Was wondering everybody's approach to a special needs client that won’t wear a face mask. Typically everybody is required to wear a mask at my salon (properly) but I have some special needs clients that are non verbal and will not understand this.
Ashley, I bought 100 disposable face masks for the "anti-maskers" for the folks who don't have one and no i've realized for the clients who come in for a color in their fancy cloth mask. I charge $2 per mask. perhaps you could hand these treasured clients a disposable mask , I think they just might understand especially if they see others in your Salon masked up
I work with the special needs population and I understand your challenge. Is there a way the caregiver can practice with the client prior to the appointment?
