Would you have any concerns buying a 2007 Volvo Penta 5.7GXI-HF with the DPS-A sterndrive? It’s got 600 hours on it with a few gaps in the service history.
I would say it’s definitely in the high risk category. Main things to looks for on that model would be water in gearbox, manifolds and risers, engine compression, bellows, leak from the steering pin, general corrosion and leaking sea pump.
They’re a great option for that era. I’d own them. Just all depends on how they’ve been looked after. Often leak oil from cyl heads and all the other usual things.
Would you know anything about a 1990 ebbtide 204 xy v8 Yamaha 5.7 l I was told the stern drive Yamaha doesn’t make parts for it or they are hard to come by any ideas on a conversion to something dif? The boat is in excellent shape and the stern drive as well no damage at all you would think it’s brand new only one owner always kept inside out of the water but I’m worried when a part does break what to do
