Hair health comes from the inside, not products, especially those that contains SLS and other harsh chemicals. You are genetically fortunate! The fact that you have no wrinkles or cracks around your mouth shows that you are still producing collagen which is why your hair is in such good shape. It’s not what you eat but what you absorb. You must have a gut in good condition in order to put all that healthy food to good use. Otherwise, you won’t get good results from your good diet.
She also has a good skincare routine, eats well and lives a healthy lifestyle. A good skincare routine can help to create collagen post menopause. At 55 and post menopause my skin and hair looks better now than it did in my 40's pre meno. I have upped my skincare and haircare routine and it has made a noticeable difference.
After a lifetime of battling with hair loss and trying everything...NOTHING made my hair grow as thick & fast & healthy - like within weeks, right in front of my eyes - as the carnivore diet. In less than a month there appeared this coat of undergrowth, and from there a voluminous coif developed. Up to four eggs per day (I mix 4 yellows & 1½ wipped whites per omelette). On top of that you'll find your muscles toning up all by itself! Energy goes way up and your brain becomes crystal clear & rocking. I experimented with this diet during our Covid winter lockdown, and was gobsmacked. In summers I add low glycemic fruit & veg, and by autumn my hear is already thinning, so winter I'm back on carnivore: meats, fish, eggs, high fat cheese, a little high cream yoghurt. Only salt, pepper, olive oil allowed to garnish (I add a little lemon juice here & there, and in my mineral water. IT WORKS.
I totally agree, better health, hair and body. After doing much research on nutrition and how our bodies process the food we consume, I started eating more red meat like rib eyes, chuck roast and hamburger along with seafood and eggs. Fat is good for the body and I feel satiated all day. I don’t eat anything from a box or a bag with a bar code, only real food. Light on veggies and only occasional fruit. Just look at the laundry list of ingredients on most products. Sugars and seed oils are abundant and for good reason. Food and drug want to keep us addicted and sick for a reason💰💰💰 Almost every commercial these days is food and drugs. There is so much to learn about what is going on if you do the research. No one is looking out for you except you! 🙏
Great advice, isabelledetaillefer2726! I do all the same things, and I make bone broth to supplement collagen. Heart and Soil also makes wonderful organ meats supplements.
I love your videos. My hair is falling out horribly since becoming a diabetic. You give me so much inspiration. You are so beautiful. My hair stresses me so much. I have always been know for my hair and smile. Unfortunately I am loosing both. Please keep all the encouraging videos coming.
My hair was also falling out due to age. My Dermo told me to use Men's Minoxidil. Put the daily dose kind of on the top of the head and then gently rub it in. It works. I even got my widow's peak back, which is far away from where I put the Minoxidil. My Dermo told me she was using it herself and she had thick, gorgeous hair. You must use it for the rest of your life, which is not an undue burden for the result. It leaves a residue that you will have to determine how often you feel you need to wash it out. Bon chance!!
I'm 62, I have very fine fairly straight hair. The past few years I've discovered 2 things that have made me finally adore my hair. 1. I have been forced to not shampoo for days. There have been times its been a month. But I always use baby powder to dry shampoo. Doing this has fattened up each hair. BTW. I'm in air conditioning continuesly. Between nit water washing and using powder, my hair is the best its ever been. It has lots of body and some subtle waves. It behaves beautifully
I do this too and I also use Henna . I use to use Henna on my fine hair and it grew nicely and looked thicker ! My hair grew to my waist . But after I lost my husband , cut my hair off ! Now I’ve gone back to Henna and I absolutely love what it does for my hair . So not cutting anymore ! My hair is past my shoulder now .
Isn't baby powder toxic? Johnson and Johnson baby powder was found to contain trace amounts of asbestos. Lawsuits have been filed. Maybe you use a better brand. I also have fine hair and like to try this.
@@mojavewolf1 Your hair must be thick as well as fine or you wouldn't be able to grow to waist! I keep mine to shoulders but Nikol's great cut has got me thinking, could be a cool change.
I take Biotin and it took about a year, but it really helped my skin, nails and hair. I have thick hair, but I noticed that I was losing hair. Wow, it worked for me. My hair is back to normal. Eating well is good, but the Biotin is the key for me.
I also want to add for those who wet set their hair and sit under the dryer to use a heat protectant spray before getting under the dryer. I use Clairol’s Shimmering Lights Thermal Shine Spray, which is great for silver, gray or blonde hair.
I went through infertility as well. It never really ends ... I meet a lot of new people each day, as a nurse ... Lordy I get asked a lot how many kids I have. Zero. Not for lack of trying. I’m ok with it now. Just never seems to go away even after menopause, that crazy never had kids issue lol.
I just bought the ORIBE line as a treat! It’s expensive but I’m 76 and I’m worth it! Lol oh! The lovely Anika whom you interviewed and has the very long gorgeous grey hair uses that line! Thought I would try it. I shopped around online and found it marked down on several sites. Also, There is made a tiny spatula to use to get lotions out of bottles just like you were doing with that serum! It’s great for foundations, too. I bought mine from Amazon. I think it’s great!!!
I have a tip for you NIkol (I can finally share something with you): CO-WASH. I find that I don't like going more than two days without washing my hair, and have found that co-wash is a great non-drying alternative. Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind and DevaCurl Zero Lather Conditioning Cleanser are great products that leave my hair moisturized and looking great. I only use traditional shampoo and conditioner once a week. On no-water days, I use dry shampoo. My absolute favorite for those is Klorane Oat Milk dry shampoo, but because it's pricey, I use Batiste. But do give the co-wash a try. I highly recommend it!
I just found you and I’m going back through all your uploads, you’re gorgeous, I love what you present, I love your honesty and I’ll keep watching for sure. Cheers from Australia 💕
Thank you so much such useful tips. Am an African with typical curly African hair but those tips work even for our type of hair, the Supplements, and understanding hair type etc, I am into natural DIYs where I can but you have really helped me understand things better. Thank you.
You inspire me ! It is a blessing to have such an amazing beautiful role model for women of all ages ! #I'm so happy I found your videos# already feel better about myself🌺🌹🌺🌹🌺🌹
Thank you beautiful Nikol...I lost my hair after my babies were born and at the last 5 years due to menopause... I am using all this tips you mentioned but the one thing that makes a difference for me was Biotin supplement
I know this is not in any way "fancy", but what about cider vinegar to treat your scalp? The smell goes away very quickly and it doesn't stain your hair
I love all the great advice. I also use supplements like you. I added beef collagen, hyaluronic acid powder, and saw palmetto powder to my morning protein shake a few years ago. I’m now in my early 60’s and still get a lot of compliments on my hair. I like your advice on investing in the right hair brush. What are your thoughts on a satin pillowcase? Never tried this, maybe because of my OCD about it not matching my sheet set. 😂
One egg a day and oatmeal every morning!! SIMPLE!! I just started that n see such a difference plus eating sunflower and pumpkin seeds! DARK CHOCOLATE YES!!
I get excited everytime u upload a new video. Hair for me is everything - if your hair looks fabulous everything lookds fabulous! I too have a bob/lob - in my opinion the most flattering hairstyle for most ladies young and old.
One thing people need to get right about washing hair is not to confuse the natural scalp secretions with dirt. The natural oil is not dirt, that's not what we wash our hair for. We wash our hair mostly because of free radicals, dust and product clinging to the natural oil. The more you wash your hair, the oilier it will get because you keep stripping it of that natural oil, to which your body reacts by producing more. A trick I use to keep my hair clean, other than touching it as little as possible and not saturating it with product, is to create updos, which prevent some of the ambient "dirt" from getting into my roots. I used to need to wash my hair every day because it got oily after a day and a half. Now it's twice a week. For sure the less you manipulate it the cleaner it will stay. Updos help to keep your hands off your hair.
The only supplement I used for beauty is sea buckthorn oil capsules. It helps skin, nails and hair. I was impressed. Somehow it hasn't caught on and I don't get why because it really works. I am going back on it now. It is recommended to take it all the time, but I find that a month of it every three months works great. It is cheaper. I imagine I would benefit more if I took it continually, but just a heads up that if you can't afford that, the effects linger a while before wearing off. It costs about 40 bucks per month to take.
Hi Nicole, I am new to your channel and am catching up on your videos. I watched one, I can't find it now, where you talk about the woman who stopped you in Sephora and said your hair did not match your face/age. Well she was rude. I think your grey hair is amazing and you wear it well. You are blessed with thick hair and you rock it!
This is the 2nd video i watched so I subbed bc u give such great advice & love how u make all us ladies feel like girlfriends. I was 15 yrs old the last time i felt like this & talked about makeup & best products to use...it's nice to feel young again lol so ty 💕
I had really thick hair but when i got the corona virus i had lost so much hair I had thin hair until recently. I been using cator oil& coconut oil in my hair daily &messaging it 3 times a week. After 2 months all my hair grew back &my hair is thick again & eating lots of omega 3 foods helped along with it. I am a happy gal now 😁
Can you tell me how you do the castor oil & coconut oil? Do you mix them together? Do you have to wash them out daily? How much do you use of each?TIA 💕
@@therealnancycarol i'll tell u something that may work for you.It has worked on many people too. Take 1 small red onion diced along with 2 cups of white rice and put in in a pan of water; about 4 cups. Once water boils set timer for 5 minutes stiring every minute.Drain using colander.Find a big spraybottle or even a mason jar and sieve all that rice milk into your bottle or jar. Stores up in the fridge for about 10 days.Every other day apply it in yourhair till hair is nice &wet but not to wet, Make sure you message in all through your scalp and roots &ends of hair. Leave in your hair all day. At night rinse it out &the shampoo &condition your hair. fter 1 month you should have thicker &longer hair. IT WORKED FOR ME :) it may work for you too
Thank you so much for this‼️. I am 76 and my hair is so thin on top and now after this I am going to go and to research what is best for my hair. It is a gorgeous colour of white in front and looks like I have had white streak put into my dark hair. But what used to be so lush and thick is now thin. I hope I am able to report to you that it has grown. ❤️👍
You are blessed with naturally thick hair. At 76, I have tried everything to thicken my hair but to no avail, Thank God I still have a decent hairline but for me my hair gets thinner when I constantly try new miracles. I gave up and added a hair piece at the back of my head witch blends in with my hair perfectly. Be careful how you clip extra hair in. Negative clipping can cause more thiness. Also pay attention to how you eat and treat your scalp! Keep the hair you’ve got as long as possible! MMB
After watching your video last night...I went shopping 🛍 😅 RITUAL VIT., MICROFIBER TOWEL, CHRISTOPHER ROBIN SCALP SCRUB, LOVE BEAUTY & PLANET SHAMPOO & COND. Got these on Amazon and got it today!!!! Shampooing tomorrow....
Was recently “ introduced “ to you. Thank you so much for your informative videos. Question - could you please share tips on hair , skin and make up for women over 65 please ? I can never seem to find anyone addressing this group. Life seems to stop at 50 in most cases.
I follow everything that you do ! I have PTSD anxiety attacks and depression and chronic pain and I am an abused woman and I have a bald spot in the front of my head and I’m not having any money from him so please let me know what I can do??? I just love you 😍 🙏💕
I also just purchased the Joah foundation and I am praying that it going to be great 👍 I hope I picked the right color and if not I am praying that I can return it for the right color??🙏♥️🥰
Hi, social worker here! My unsolicited advice aside from Nikol's... Pls consider calling your nearest women's shelter/crisis center. You can get help whether or not you can leave. You need all the support you can get. 1800 799 SAFE is the national hotine if you need it. Also, consider drinking aloe juice with the least amount of sugar possible. Your problem is most likely inflammation from all the stress. Eat things with tumeric if you like that, it's also in capsule form. Pineapples are good because of the bromelain. Also, bone broth for collagen and that will help with digestion from stress too. Ashwaghanda may also help with the stress, that is in capsule form. 💜💜💜
Dupe for Mason-Pearson: DENMAN brush. They have a brush that is a mix of natural and nylon mix for under $40. I love mine. I’ve had it for 4 or 5 years and it’s like new. I bought one for every lady in my family as Christmas presents! By the way, Maso Pearson do NOT last forever! I had one years ago and had to toss it. Wouldn’t spend the money on one now. I’d rather by several Denman! But that’s me! 🥴
This was a great video with lots of actionable tips! You are becoming the David Letterman (top 10 list) of beauty! I purchased the Mason Pearson brush and a microfiber hair towel after viewing your last hair video. I love it. And thank you for listing the links to purchase the products. BTW.... Joan Rivers has an outstanding scalp powder. I purchase via QVC.
Wow, I was looking at your other videos that say you're over 50. You look so young. I didn't believe it. You look amazing. I hope to God I look like you when I'm over 50. I thought you where in your late 30s or early 40s. I am just going to do everything you say to do for skin care and hair and hope it works out the same way for me. :) 👍
HELPPPP I am 46 year old Asian woman and by hair is grey and reaches below my waist. My hair is dry and brittle and constantly falling out. I recently started watching your videos and fell in love with your hair. Can you give me specific product recommendations for my hair loss? Thank you
Recently I had a bunch of hair falling out. I was using the hormone pellet and didn't realize that a side effect could be hair loss. Big mistake! I have really short hair, so I was stumped as to how to compensate. I started with hair masques, Olaplex, etc. but what to do meantime? Enter Joan Rivers Hair Powder. What a Godsend! I was able to do the dark roots thing and it totally covered the bald spots. I have hair coming back in and needless to say, goodbye to the pellet! It can be paralyzing to see you are starting to look like your brother. LOL! Thank you for this timely video and all the great tips!
My beautiful silver ivf sis inside and out! Love the phyto line so much thanks for the recommendation so long ago! Love how you use every last drop of your fave products and wish the spatty daddy worked on every bottle!
Every time I watch one of your videos I want to go gray, your hair is so beautiful and has such a up to date look...I’m so inspired by your videos but am a little shy in growing out my grays do you have tips on how to grow it out without looking so obvious or is there such a thing 😊
So i wash my hair maybe twice a week. And i use Unite products which have literally saved my hair! Also ive recently tried using leaf flower with CBD.. lovvvve it ! Btw you have gorgeous hair ❤️
You are a strong person. Thank you for sharing. Sometimes, I see people and I think that they have no cares. Then I wonder what I did wrong to have this be happening. I am sorry that you went through it please do not get me wrong. It such teaches me not to assume that a person is not or has not gone through bad experiences. Thank you for sharing what you do and what you use. Is there any way you could recommend something more affordable because what you use is a little out of my price range. I mean for the shampoos and conditions.
I tried Shea Moisture products on my hair, and it didn't work for me, and I'm African American. Their products doesn't have any "harsh" chemical, but for some reason, it didn't work on my hair.
Thank you for the valuable, helpful TIPS! It would be helpful if drugstore products be mentioned as options for people on a budget. For drugstore places are convenient places to find.
I recently filmed a video on drugstore hair products I think this will cover it for you ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S4FouSBj-Us.html
Hi Nikol ,l have very fine thinning hair ,that upsets me so much .what is the name of the powder l can sprinkle on to my scalp please ? I am 79 and my doctor tells me it’s my age ,but l really think it is genetics and medication l can take .
Nikole, please tell me why you are not recommending a volumizing shampoo that you recommended in a previous video. I so happened to buy it and then I watched this video... Now I was wondering if you had a problem with that better not younger product. Please let me know.
Once a month, I use Ceramide oil to foam soap mixed with Dermalogica exfoliant derm powder & baking soda. Stir it up ~7 massage on the scalp, then wash off, then I do my usual routine of an iRestore conditioner, or Khadi oil, Khadi serum, Ingru Bar, or Sisley serum… depends on what I need. If the ends are screwed up, I do Korea Almond & Lindsey mask, or the Florena FERMENTED OIL complex run through the entire head, from scalp to tip, over the serum. I also use an ozone red comb every few days, & an iRestore cap regularly. My regular shampoo? Khadi thickening Amla, or Urtekram spicy orange blossom: ⚠️STAY AWAY FROM SLS⚠️
I have yet to find a video from someone who has found away to improve thinning hair, hair loss and bad condition hair into a beautiful head of hair. Every video I've watched the presenter always have beautiful hair. No before photos or videos. They advertise products just like on TV.
@@2125chopstix well, if it's any consolation, there's a woman I know at work who started using rice water on her head and hair, and I saw a difference in the growth and softness within a month. She adds mint and other fragrances to it so it doesn't smell so bad. Try it. 🙂 Oh also, I take a supplement with biotin in it and it makes my hair look fuller and grows faster. My nails look great too!!
@@springfauna1465 thank you for taking the time to reply. I have been taking biotin for at least 2 years. I still kept losing my hair. The top of my head is embarrassing. I have tried olive oil and castor oil mixed, massaged and left overnight. Hair loss is reduced but no regrowth which doesn't help. But I will try rice water. I have nothing to lose except more hair lol. How does she apply it.
Hi Nikol I’m in my mid 60s and have dry hair and thick and I’m in Florida and the humidity makes my gray hair crinkly and I’ve tried everything to make my hair smooth and nothing works . Do u have any advice on how I can get my gray hair smooth like yours thank u
Thick hair is genetic. My mom and dad had thin hair, so do I and so do my siblings. The hair shaft is dead, only the roots are alive. I've heard that scalp massages, increasing the circulation to the roots helps, as does minoxidil. However you to take minoxidil forever to get and keep the benefits. My sister and I tried Biotin for a year. It did nothing.
Eating healthier will not make your hair thicker. You are born with your hair volume. If you are losing hair, go to an endocrinologist. You may well have low thyroid. A general practitioner tends not to test the thyroid well. Endocrinologists prefer your TSH to be around 2. They know how to test and how to figure out what is happening.
