Secure landfill expansion for the Signaterre Environnement contaminated soil treatment centre 

Signaterre Environnement is a treatment centre and secure landfill for contaminated soil. In Quebec, soil may be treated and reused when the level of contamination allows, but soils that cannot be treated must be buried in maximum security cells.
In 2015 Signaterre received authorization to increase the capacity of the landfill to 929,500 m3, the fourth phase of an ongoing project.
Solmax provided a multilayer solution: comprised of GSE® HD liner, FABRINET® drainage geocomposite and BENTOLINER® GCL. The solution was specified by engineering firm Aecom, installed by FC Geosynthétiques, and integrity tested by Alphard.
