Securing Shingles around Skylight Back Pan: Don't nail into the back pan! 

When securing shingles around the skylight, you need to make sure to place nails where they won't cause issues.
One problem spot that you should avoid putting nails into is the back pan of the step flashing kit that we installed. If you nail into the back pan it can be susceptible to water causing damage and a leak in the roof.
