Lamar Thorpe is responsible for the safety of his city above all and I'm happy to see that they are weeding out the bad in the police department and hope that this travels through all police departments across this nation. This isn't the only instance.

I live in Georgia but my hometown is Pittsburg California next door to Antioch and Historically Antioch was racist. I am not surprised by any of this. Some of the newcomers may be but Contra Costa County has a rich tradition of racism.

Stand strong Mayor, what these officers did was wrong. If you have several officers that are racist and possibly corrupt, then you should have any outside agency investigate like the State Police or FBI.

There should be an independent investigation. The mayor has incentives to make it a lot worse than it is. It helps his politics too. And if there are threats, such people should be fully prosecuted, just like criminals.

This is a mess. The Antioch Police Dept. must do more to restore the citizens’ confidence in their performance and transparency. This is frightening. 17 plus officers on leave in a city of over 125,000 residents. Praying for their safety.
