Absolutely fantastic watching this, I’m 59 yrs old now & that little boy in the video could have very well been me. My aunt & uncle lived at 1527 Knoxville and I would always want to go to Bells when we visited.
That loud music coming from Himalya was awesome. We went every year & rode it. Remember the ring cleaners? We don't go anymore, it cost like 100x more.
Your restoration on this is astounding!!! Fantastic work. What memories... shocked none of the shots included the old KELI radio building on the midway. I hope you find this family, I'm sure these would be incredible memories for them to see again.
Such peaceful days of Innocence! You wouldn't even know we were in the middle of the bloodiest era of the Vietnam war, there were dangerous protests around the country. All forgotten for a day of happiness! I just retired in Tulsa about 7 years ago! I love it here!
I know I went with buddies in 1971 at 16 years old. In one building they were selling "bootleg" 8-track tapes at a big discount. I bought the albums Golden Biscuits by Three Dog Night and L.A. Woman by The Doors. Otherwise we ran around the fair, probably checking out the girls. 😂
I can smell the funnel cake, cotton candy, caramel apples, and popcorn from here. Wait, I had to ensure nothing stuck to my shoe [flashbacks]. Sir, I'm not a religious man, but dangit, your efforts are a blessing.👼 Thank you!
Looks like everyone had a good time at the Tulsa state fair in the 1970’s! Those rides they took were a little too fast for viewing-do they still have the fair or has anything changed since that time? Good hi. Home film! 😊😊😊😊😊😊
The good ole days before gangs and corrupt politics shut down Bells. I was lucky enough to get to go on my birthday for a few years when I was in grade school.
Obviously, the people who took this home movie didn't think to film Zingo. They probably thought, "they'll be plenty of videos on RU-vid in the future, so we don't have to waste time filming that.." :-)
