I would like to say a Big THANK YOU To the Country and People of Japan. For letting Shohei Ohtani play in the USA and the Angels Organization. He made the 2018 MLB Season a Memorable and Exciting one for all of Baseball it's Fans.
Thank you very much for letting so many Japanese players play in MLB since debut of Nomo back in 1995. Ohtani is the special one for sure, and Japanese fans miss him a lot, but we enjoy watching his challenge in the best league of the world through TV.
Let me translate your comment so that all Japanese people can understand your sweet comment.
...And I would like to thank to MLB and all fans. You are treat him equally to other American players and give Shohei warm welcome. Seeing your support to him made all Japanese fans happy for sure. As Shohei said himself that he is not yet complete as a player and have a lot of room for improvements. Because of his great MLB experiences this year, He will be back as a better player next year. Let’s enjoy watching his journey together.
Ohtani is one of the most entertaining players to watch, probably in the history of this sport. His incredible dynamic gameplay and of course as a rare 2-way player is like no other.
This guy should deserve rookie of the year.... people say Miguel Andujar, but..... he doesn’t pitch an ERA in the 3.30’s and he doesn’t put up 4 wins lol. Plus Ohtani is batting in the .280’s with 22 homers in JUST 100 games
@@kienanhague1560 that's the point, his stats we're almost there same and some of them were better, and he played 50 less games not to mention he also pitches
Glenn Rebenstorf OHHHH... Well who won rookie of the year???? Yea that’s right Ohtani did. I think you forgot that he pitched too an era under 4 and over 50 innings
I love Gameing from Japan👍 I think Trout was the key for Ohtani’s batting success. Having the most greatest hitter in the world on the same team, and watch him play was a great experience for Ohtani.(not just hitting but Trout’s personality is great)
@@slugger_hinatastan17 Ohtani got 11more home runs than Harper in 2021.Tthough Harper's injury caused his lower At bats should also be an important factor, Shohei is the most dominant starting pitcher in Angels and Angels' 2021 MVP. Shohei's double outstanding performances thus got him the full 30 votes of AL MVP.
Actually thats would be hard. Coaches are not idiots they all gonna analyze ohtani. Thats y so many new players carry team on first year but being a shit next year
I fear his pitching could severly impact his hitting potential.. As far as overall numbers he could put up. I hope im wrong though. Id like to see him do both. Hes already proven at a young age and in not many games... And being banged up hit 22 homers in his rookie year. If he gave up pitching hes a 28-50homerun a year guy
@@sergeantdetergent6342 no one plays 182 games, except cal ripken jr haha but yeah i get what ya mean. I agree and if he focused on only hitting he in his best seasons could easily be a 40 hr guy as well... Hope he can do both
I am Japanese. I have heard of him, but I am proud as I am. The Japanese think that Major League is very great. He said that he was very happy to be there and left for Japan. I think that warmly fans, stadiums and teams not in Japanese baseball have pushed him. Major League is fantastic. Thank you!
At first Ohtani wanted to challenge the Major league just after high school, but Kuriyama and Nippon Ham Fighters persuaded Ohtani with their special plan to train him as a two-way player and let him goes to the major league. At that time most of the major league scouts already noticed Ohtani talent, but not as a two-way player but as only a picher because that time they thought his piching skill and potential were much more impressive than batting. That's one reason that Nippon Ham Fighters let Ohtani play the Major league before he can get FA right in one-two years.
Imagine next year when he spends the season as the dh. 30+ home runs easy. As a hitting pitcher. We are seeing shit that is literally once in a lifetime.
E. Snow as long as he stays healthy man. Also even when he has a slow year he still drives in 90+ ribbies. Morbidly curious as to how Ausmus manages this team.
To think that back in spring some people said that he was a bust, and that the Angels wasted money. Honestly I too thought that he was going to struggle a bit on his 1st year from watching his spring training at-bats and pitching, but man how he adjusted quickly.
For a incomplete + injurie season, he made it AWESOME ... Andujar made great season, but do not impress the journalists for 1st place vote insted Ohtani, who impress all the MLB fans with his performance and great ATTITUDE...
ohtani should be just a hitter forever. he doesnt need to be a pitcher anymore because he will be a HM king next ear and more. maybe he'll smash over 40 in a whole year.
So I'm certain he hits 50 next Year if they keep throwing him pitches to hit. Considering he will only hit next year while rehabbing after TJ i doubt the pitchers will take him lightly, they learned quick this past year and he still sent 22 out...playing part time.
