First time I’ve ever had a company say that you can install it in 30 minutes or less and I actually was able to install it in 30 minutes or less. This is a great product once installed too! Really like the app. I’m buying a second unit for my downstairs system as well.
Nice explanation, but I wish you give more info about setting heat-pump and emergency/suxiliary electric furnace automatic change below a certain degree.
Turns out, they're not THAT smart... what they don't tell you is there is no way to adjust the AUX heat threshold, it's completely based on the algorithm. I found this out when my HVAC contractor came out to look at mine and figure out why the AUX heat was coming on way more than it should. They basically showed me a tip that disables the AUX heat which I've done during the warmer months. I want an Ecobee
@@user-ch9he1my4k Not that smart, you aure are true. We had our HVAC contractor install a device on the thermopomp so that when too cold, the Aux start... It sure was complicated. My second choice was Honeywell Wireless WiFi Thermostat,7 which is Programmable (for Aux temperuature setting).... But as the other one was installed and working I leaved it like. It is pretty thought. Sensi service and help are non existing and pointless, if wver you contact them.
@@AmandaBillows So I've never had any problems with their service and I like the thermostat, but its fatal flaw s that it doesn't allow AUX heat adjustments so it can run very unnecessarily. I have a Ducane LYNX 18 Seer and there's no reason the algorithm should allow the aux heat to turn on when it's 40+ degrees outside...
My experience with these is your better off with a C wire. Yes, they will work without the C wire but they will be running completely on battery power and the batteries only last about 4 or so months in this configuration. Might be fine if you only have one thermostat but multiple ones...... you will be changing lots of batteries. As far as I know there are no other smart thermostats that run without a C wire, so this thermostat at least gives you the option, just be informed on the battery usage. As an electrician, I have put many of these in and I recommend them to people looking for a good, simple, smart thermostat. Elderly people love them as they can still be used like and old school thermostat if need be and are easy to understand.
We still weren't able to either press the connect button or if we were able to get "connected", we'd always get "Can't create secure connection" We fixed it and was able to complete the whole setup by turning off our VPN on our android phone (we had express VPN) and changing our location on the phone to "allowed all the time".

I am looking for a smart thermostat for an airbnb property (heating only as no a/c) . I need it to have the function where the ONLY function that the guests can access is turning the heat off or boosting it incrementally for up to say 6 hours maximum. I need it so that guests are unable to override this setting. Does this or any other thermostat have this available in the settings ? thanks !
mine works when not connected to wifi by just using the touchscreen. you may need to connect it to the app during setup, but you don't have to use the app to adjust the temp
Can anyone tell me if you can use this for a boiler with baseboard heat and AC? The box says in tiny letters, it does not work with baseboard heat. I have had experts help me and could not answer that question. Baseboard heat could mean electric baseboard heat, but they don't specify
I installed a Sensi Smart Thermostat, I really liked it until the app stopped working requiring that I pay a monthly subscription. I guess I am back to google home....
Does not work with heat pump Rc Rh G O Y unless you add C wire. Ran four other tstats on system that were smarter that did not need more wiring. Not a truly battery operated tstat by its advertising.
