It only makes very small progress near Bakhmut, a small town that you treat like it was the backbone of Ukraine's frontline. At this moment, Russia holds no major city in Ukraine. Moskva was sunk in a landwar against a nation without a battle fleet. Several thousand tanks and APCs destroyed, several hundred planes of various types. Russia is losing roughly 1k men every single day - and good riddance I say. Now dipshits like you say that Russia is fighting EU/NATO and whatever to save face, cause you do not want to admit that worthless Russian toilet-thief army is getting its ass kicked. Ukraine has received mere hand-me-downs such as old soviet era surplus vehicles and a tiny number of modern weapon systems such as HIMARS and Panzerhaubitze 2000. These few modern NATO weapon systems have been tearing Russia assunder to the sweet, sweet tune of nearly 150k casualties in the Russian army. No matter how much you attempt to lie to yourself, you know Russia would not stand a chance against the US, let alone the entirety of NATO. Second best army in the world? Russia is barely the second best army in Ukraine lmao.

A great reminder of one those moments in the first 3 days that raised spirits and showed that Ukraine was going to fight and fight hard. Within a couple more days there was footage of that old man filming that entire column of Chechens that had been obliterated in Bucha along with another video of a Ukrainian walking like a BOSS past burning Russian wrecks while wielding an NLAW and you knew that they were a different kind of people... true Patriots who love their land! The Ukrainian military was given very good intel about who, when and where the Russian air force would attack. That info basically derailed the takeover of Kiev's closest airport that would have been used for the subsequent TAKEOVER of Kiev and a quick victory. Bravo Zulu Ukraine and Mr. Zelensky! @@hifinsword Most certainly, the tenacious defence of Hostomel is what saved Kyiv and Ukraine. For those that dont know.. the helicopters you see being downed in the Kyiv reservoir was part of the Russian assault on Hostomel... and every one held a squad of VDV paratroopers.

@@canadaphil6068 that is true, and they had taken over the airfield in hostomel. Still it wasn’t useful as huge semis filled with old engines and other heavy car parts were parked on the landing strip making it impossible to remove them and for reinforcements to land… then VDV was eliminated. I was watching the footage of russian armoured columns passing through Ukrainian border yesterday. It was a very satisfying thought to look at them and realise that a vast majority of these soldiers who entered Ukraine are dead by now…

On this place exactly we used to participate while coaching at our windsurfing school crossing with our boards in the summer - we call it Kyiv see. That's pitty about shootting down of ONLY two helicopters, but these first efforts brought enourmous feeling and confidence we can fight the enemy! Slava Ukraini!

Sure... but then NOBODY would have bet on them surviving back then and it took a long time to build support. Luckily they were able to put each and every STINGER and each and every JAVELIN and NLAW that they had just received in the months prior to good use in those first few days. It certainly helped them to at least blunt their attack and then beat them off over the next month.

The Ukrainians had already captured the attack plans. The Russians attacked Homestal airport and the Ukrainians where waiting for them and the Ukrainians OBLITERATED them. .
