Death knells sounding. This will absolutely destroy the resell market for sealed wax. A lot of sealed wax investors are about to lose a lot of money and will essentially be forced to actually use this service to try to find the big cards in their sealed wax to rip themselves and then sell everything else for whatever they can, even if they don't want to. It will also kill breaking eventually as more and more people lose all trust that the product is legit and unsearched. Fanatics should be very very concerned about this if they want their investment in the industry to not become a white elephant. They absolutely must come up with a packaging solution that makes this impossible if they want to be able to sell product for more than a few bucks.

These breakers aren’t using this or will use this to make a better show. They will use it for themselves. At the minimum they’ll fill a break with made up ppl and then break it. Zero chance any person outside there circle will be getting a top hit.

this just killed the market for buying packs and boxes... who in their right mind would buy packs or boxes anymore? Maybe even cases? this might be the finishing blow on the valley the market is in right now and push it below 6 feet under

I see two potential solutions which the card manufacture would need to implement, 1. Similar to a privacy envelope create packaging which entirely distorts the image and 2. create cards which are irreversibly destroyed when x-rayed. I see #2 as THE solution... and cards will likely cost more... yay!!!

The packaging, cellophane on the box and the foil on the pack of cards would be irreversibly changed when exposed to X-rays... now we don't have cards susceptible to damage. Problem solved.

The layers of corruption that this brings to the hobby's doorstep is crushing... so glad I don't operate in any space where this will effect my participation or enjoyment...

@@SportCardMadness I have vintage full wax boxes and unopened packs... real glad i bought them before it became even. easier for fraudsters to search and sell unopened product... Once this takes hold I'm pretty sure that I won't be a buyer for anything in these categories... BBCE wrapped boxes and PSA graded packs just got a little more valuable, I think...

@@SportCardMadnesshow can you not see this as anything but hobby killing? Why try and kill a market you're invested in? Makes no sense to me unless you want to personally take advantage of this. If you scan a box and it has nothing will you scam someone and sell it to them without acknowledgement? This is scummy behaviour.

@@Ozymandias_1818 I only collect vintage cards with on card autographs (most of them deceased) so it won’t impact me at all. I do recognize it may impact packs and boxes though. Like with any new tech the hobby will have to adapt or die.

and even worse... for cards not slabbed... what is the guarantee that if you sent in a pack or box and it was LOADED that they wouldn't swap it out for a dud ? this has corruption written all over it. overnight new products will be designing their packs to prevent this from happening moving forward... but everything from beginning of time to 2024 product that has high demand chase cards can now be considered soiled. the chase for missing curry RC over, the logoman of anyone great is over.... and more. this is horrible for the industry. i can see the descriptions now "sealed unopened unscanned"

I don’t feel any particular way about it but I do love new tech and think it’s fascinating whether it ruins an industry or not. I do think redemption cards and magnets can solve the problem.
