The most shocking part to me is that the boy even noticed something was off in the first place...how many kids actually pay that much attention to their bus driver? Even most adults wouldn't be paying good enough attention to notice something was wrong. She wasn't even slumped over or anything. It just looks like shes driving normally to me
We should not be surprised. We need to have faith that our children are a lot smarter than we give them credit for! I have faith in parents to be involved with their children in every aspect of their well being because they have the unconditional love and respect our children deserve. These children are the future. This family gives me hope, faith in my grandchildren’s future. The young man seems to be unsure of all the attention. This tells us it’s something he does on a regular basis. Aware, observant, and a problem solver. Not a drone with their heads down and clueless of the world around them because they are addicted to their cell phones. It’s an epidemic. Has anyone tried to take away a teens phone…yet? This is what happens when parents give their children life’s lessons. Like in the old days, before phones.
As a school bus driver of over 35 yrs, I can’t emphasize enough to teach kids what to do if something happens to the driver. This boy knew enough to stop the bus and put it in neutral. Also what to do is set the emergency brake - the big yellow button on the dash next to the gear shift. “ALL” big buses have this. Where I worked we had drills once a year to show the kids how to exit the bus in an emergency, out the side exit. Also they need to be taught where the brake is, how to set it, and to turn off the ignition when stopped. Don’t turn it off until stopped cuz the bus may need to be steered to safety. As parents riding on field trips it’s good to know these things too. I did a safety speech before every field trip cuz most kids don’t ride the bus daily and need to know what to do in an emergency. ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊congrats to this boy who knew what to do.
He looks uncomfortable with all the attention. Might be thinking, "I don't understand what the fuzz is about, I just did what had to be done." I hope life treats him right.
@@bgibson-nt7pz I thought the same - having seen someone pass away myself, it can be very traumatic, especially at a young age 😔 He saved all his classmates and I’m sure that regardless of how the story ended that was a huge relief to the bus driver. Looked like she started having a seizure or something😔
There are many ways to measure a 'true hero', as this vid hails him to be... the TRUE measure I see, is his apparent awkwardness as he's being 'hailed'... he seems uncomfortable with all the fuss, because he, in his mind, did nothing more than what he perceived, had to be done... you are a hero, and even more so, for not noticing you are!👍🏼✌🏼🇨🇦
Wow. You do know that anybody can have a medical emergency? You just immediately assume her issue is weight related. And even if it is, you don't know ANYTHING about her health. Not all weight gain is caused by lifestyle choices. Medical conditions, medication and genetics can all cause weight gain. For all YOU know she could be as fit as she can be. Shame on you. The first question you should be asking is if she is ok? I'm so glad I'm not at the mercy of your judgemental lack of empathy view of the world.
All the blacks across the US are gonna be mad that it wasn't a black kid that acted as a hero, because this takes the spotlight off of black this and black that.
