Because of your videos on the yamaha raider. I just went and bought an 09. Wish I could have found mine that cheap but at 5000 I feel like I didn't do bad. Thanks and great videos
I bought my 2008 Raider S in 2012 for about $9K, so you almost flat out stole this one. In addition to the Cobra pipes, this one has a couple extra trim pieces that didn't come from the factory, namely the chrome belt protector and the chrome tips on the swing arms. I put those on mine too, they really help dress up the back end to match the front better.
Yeah, the extra chrome definitely makes it pop. I didn't even realize those were add ons. I'm still amazed that he was letting it go that cheap. Thanks for watching!
Heck yeah! I'm a huge fan of the raiders, although I've since sold both the ones that I had. All good though. I'll get another soon enough! Thanks for watching and commenting!
What a steal , low mileage , new tires , exhaust , probably a tuner and filter . I have a 2009 Stratoliner I sold to my brother and bought it back 2 years later for 2500 , but putting new tires on for 800 . Has 20000 . I still got a good deal and love these bikes . I would do the Raider if I was younger but at 80 , comfort is first and foremost . I bought my 09 new in 2012 for 12000 , leftover 09 on sale .
Jon, you got the deal of the CENTURY on that bike. I would have bought that in a heartbeat just to have a spare sitting next to my 2008 Red/Flamed Raider S. WOW, very envious. Hope you kept that one! Sell pretty easily for double in that condition.
I bought the same bike brand new same color in Pennsylvania... years later I was in Florida an old couple rammed into me pushed me into two palm trees totaled the bike.... and also totaled my body never walked the same again... 2 years later I purchased a Honda 1800 VTX another sweet bike... when I started riding I had two different Harleys I spent more time working on them then riding them when I went to the Yamaha Raider it had such a great feel to it I couldn't tell if I was on a Harley or Yamaha it had that same kind of feel to it where you would sit down low and reach out for the handlebars great bike... that's a hell of a deal you got...😎💰💰💰💰☠👋
I just send your comment end up 2009 Rider that you bought that's a beautiful bike that was a blessing for you enjoy the Bike I love motorcycles I'm 66 year I just sold my Harley I have a little health issue but so now I feel better I would like to buy a 2009 Raider many blessing for you
I SOOOOO overpaid for my 2009 Raider S. Only 3,900 miles, one owner, timeless black with dark red pinstripes, the factory wheels were chromed, PC5, twin K&N air box pods, V&H big radius 2 into 2 pipes and lots of aftermarket chrome pieces. Unfortunately the original owner hardly ever rode it. He never did ANY maintenance on it so ALL of the fluids and tires were original from 2009. I had to spend more money to replace two extremely dry rotted tires, engine oil and filter, transfer case oil, flush and fill both brake master cylinders and the clutch master cylinder. Paid $8,250 plus over $1,000 for tires and fluids. About $9,500 total but now I have a near perfect, spotless, chromed out , performance enhanced, super low mileage BAD ASS Raider S. Unlimited power, handles really good, only a tiny hint of vibration, brakes are phenomenal. Best bike I've ever owned. The only thing left for me to do is send the ECU to Ivans Performance for a reflash. It will make more power, raise the rev limit to 5,850 rpm's, lower operating temperature and smooth out the jerky throttle caused by overly aggressive engine braking because it's such an enormous motor. WHAT A BEAST!!!
Wow. You got a great deal. He could've gotten a lot more. I had a Black 2008 Raider and I sold mine back to the dealership and got a lot more. Great deal.
It's currently April 18, 2023 I just bought a 2010 Raider S from Greensburg Pa YESTERDAY, for 4K with 10k miles on the clock, not as good a deal as this one, but damn close enough for me
Wow man thats an incresible deal cos in Australia these bikes go for around $15,000 upwards and most have very high miles on them so i wished i lived in the U.S, KEEP UP THE GREAT VIDEO'S MATE, CHEERS👍🙂🏍
Definitely, you got a best deal on this bike. I plan tp get another bike sometimes later and I will make a choice between this Yamaha Raider and Yamaha Stryker 1300. It is hard for me to make decision on these. Thx for sharing video bud.
The fit and finish on the Raider and the Strats is as top quality as any Harley. And Harley is known for their fit and finish. Yamaha makes exceptional equipment.
3500 you the man 4500 is the cheapest I've seen and that's usually triple the miles I'm trying to save up for 1 I had a 99 soft tail custom that I loved but was always trying to make it fast so this time I'm going after the faster bike
You're gonna love the raider! Stay tuned -- I'm posting a vid today of a more in depth ride/review/impressions on the bike. I hadn't take it out for a while and forgot how much of a blast it is! I may have hit 100+ at the end of the vid. Lol. Thanks for watching!
$3500?!?!?! You stole that bike!!! I have a 2010 that is the same color as yours, but mine is not an "S". I bought mine new in 2011 and paid around $12,000. I'm so jealous of you right now.
Don't be jealous, brotha! This was one of those once in a lifetime deals, and I was dumb enough to end up selling it. Kicking myself for that decision now. Lol. At least you're getting lots of good miles out of yours. Thanks for checking the channel and commenting! Ride safe!
Hahahah...they're super sick bikes! If you can get your hands on a nice pre-owned with low miles, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Thanks for checking the channel! Ride safe!
Yeah, they fit the bike for sure. I'm typically not a fan of red bikes, but the metal flake on this really pops. They look awesome in person! How's the market in ky? Are there lots of options, or not so much? Here it's hit or miss when it comes to the raiders.
@@JonsMotoGarage i know you do, i can tell your a down to earth regular guy, with great talent, pretty cool, i love all bikes, and love to ride, so we share that bro
Great question! The short answer is no. At the moment I'm having the most fun on the drz, but I'd be at peace with no motos in the garage if it came down to it. I get a thrill out of finding good deals and I love to rid and have fun, but at the end of the day the family and health are tops in my book. What's your favorite moto?
Yes, I would have bought it too. Did you check to see how much damage to the exhaust before you bought and after your scraping them in the court drive?
Bought my raider, here in nh,2019,had 11000miles, paid 6900, for it, not an s model, eating Harley"s, ever since, 2011model,long shot pipes, commander module on it
Honestly, I don't know for certain. I've heard it has to do with the high compression engines, but never did the research to confirm that/why. I used to encounter the same thing with the yamaha road star warriors (1700cc) as well as many of the big V-Twin Harleys (street glide, road glides, etc.). It seems to be the baseline.
All those Yamaha 1900 engines start that way. They used them on the Raiders, Stratoliners and Roadliners. I keep mine on a battery tender anyway, so never had a problem.
Great deal! , I want to star buying, riding, and selling bikes. But I don’t know if it’s worth taking that risk here in Mexico. What tips would you give me on starting on that business?
Hey, just seeing this now. I started out small with what I knew and could afford. Set aside enough that it won't have a huge impact if ou lose it (worst case). Feel free to email me: jonsmotogarage@gmail.com
Got lucky. Got one just like it. Was thinkin bout sellin mine and was goin to start out twice that much. Mine has the matching yamaha red hard boxes. Steve from delaware. B safe On my third set of pipes. Never could find what i was really happy with.
Thanks for checking the channel! In the right market, these things can probably get close to that! Especially with the extras you mention. Thanks for watching and commenting! Ride safe!
@@derekcomingo2197 Are you looking st the 1300 and 950? I've owned a few of each (wel, ones that I bought/sold). I'm a big fan of the 1300. I think it's one of the more underrated. The 1300 engine is smoother than a lot of the larger alternatives out there. But I don't mess with the 650 or 1100 anymore cause I can't stand the carbs. Such a pain on those.
For the year and mileage, that seems pretty good. See if he'll take $6k...or maybe $5500. Hahaha. Most of the 2014 Raiders that I see are priced $7k plus. The exhaust is a plus for sure! Thanks for checking out the vid! Keep me posted if you pick that one up.
Is the rear fender also metal? Being air cooled does it overheat in slow moving traffic? No way I can justify a HD breakout after seeing your Raider videos
Mine isnt as clean, and higher miles, but i payed $2800 for mine off dealer auction. Looks like you got a similar if not better deal, looking at the condition of yours!! Steal!!
@@JonsMotoGarage Oh no😔 She got away. One day, I'll either have a raider or a warrior. I have an old vstar 1100 now that I've used to learn how to customize on. It looks cool but it's an 1100. I cant blame ya for selling if ya already have one. I just wish I would've seen this the day you posted it.
@@bobbysweeney5377 sorry, bro! Yeah, I've had tons of vstar 1100's over the years. I used to sell a bunch, but most people want fuel injection now. Still great bikes!
@@JonsMotoGarage LOL..surprised that it was still there. Now you need to bring her to the Raider Rally in Maggie Valley, NC. Raiderrally.com, or stop by Roadstarraider.com. Peace
@@eyemalmostthere no kidding. I was sure it would be a scam or something. I'll check out those sites. Not sure I'll make it to NC from AZ but you never know...
