Nigerians should not rely on the constitution alone; this is because nigerian constitution is not clear on any matter. Therefore we need the federal legislators to review the electoral acts or laws and update the areas loopholes exist, so that partisan judiciary or judges can not rule on such cases incorrectly. When nigerian court or judge can take a candidate that came last in an election to be first or winner is a joke and unconscionable. A country that is over 60 years and claimed to be a democracy, should not be so dishonest and administer elections in this manner.

I believe the votes belong to the party and not the candidate. For the votes to belong to the candidate, then the candidate should have contested as an independent candidate and not fly the party flag under the party platform. Thanks

When Umahi talks, you will recognize that he does not understand democracy. He was ranting and abusing the judiciary and the judgemnent against him. I believe that this a contempt of the court. A couple of weeks ago, he shamefully told the world that Igbo's do not want Biafra without remembering that in a democracy, it's one man one vote. He must recognize that he is negligible in the scheme of the rest of Ndi Igbos

My question is simple. If the votes belongs to a person or a candidate. Not the party Why is it that if a party aspirant under a party primary wins a court case against another member in party primary election, and the person presented by the party won in the general election, why would the person will now claims the votes of the party at the general election after court judgment? Nobody should be above the law in corruption, looting or other criminal offences. Their whoring and crisscrossing from one political party to another after they have obtained a political position or an office from one party to another should be addressed before the next election. And we the masses should not be accepting or taking everything they throw at us, we must learn and create a means to which we can resist all their shenanigans, else come next election they will enforce a half bake individual upon us again as president and the circle continues.
