Great video, your relaxed nature has certainly rubbed off on your livestock. The bull just sitting there, looking a little put out when he had to move and the cow venturing in to check your work. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Sue, I am gla d you enjoyed it. Moo moo the bull is a very chilled animal. All the cows were annoyed with me for planting the oats instead of giving it the them to eat. Thanks from Geoffrey

I had to watch it in stages, because it was very late when I watched the first time. But the seeding is quite an operation and investment. And I can imagine that there is much on the line for your family. Lets hope that the germination will be very successful. I can't wait to see the update about all those green seedlings popping up 👍 It is still a bit cold here for the time of the year, and some rain is predicted, but now we also get longer days, and we had a few days that were dryer and with some sunshine. Just enough to give some flowers a little boost. I think that the farmers here were also glad that the rain stopped for a while. Because last month May we had more than twice average amount of rain for the time of the year. According to the weather service. So not much sunshine to get things growing at a decent pace.

Hi, thanks very much. We have had some rain most days which is great for us as the soil is still very dry below the surface. I am glad you are getting some sun now. I hope it warms up for you and your garden can start to grow. Thanks from Geoffrey

I remember using my chamberlain, till the farm needed big iron, now I can use the wings of the setup, have an older challenger 200 plus hp and 350 hp jd articulated. Love the equipment and the tips that are vanishing.

Hi Peter, I am surprised that Chamberlain never made a bigger tractor to use with the larger machinery. One day I will get a bigger tractor too, but I also enjoy the old machinery. Thanks from Geoffrey

Good to see your finally getting some seed in the ground. Just out of curiosity, wasn’t your new air cart fan PTO driven?
@brookdalefarm7986
@brookdalefarm7986 4 месяца назад
Hi Travis, it good to be most of the way threw seeding now. Yes the air cart dose have a PTO drive. On the first lap of the paddock everything blocked up. After looking at the manual and measuring the pulley size I discovered it is set up for a 1000rpm PTO, so the petrol engine is back on until I can get the right pulley. Thanks from Geoffrey

The chamberlain could pull a 20 or 24 row combine with direct drill tynes. Is the narrow air seeder it so ya don't have to fill up in the paddock ?
@brookdalefarm7986
@brookdalefarm7986 4 месяца назад
Hi Luke, we have fairly heavy clay soils here. Most smaller seeders don’t have a height enough breakout on the tunes to be able to dig in this soil so we always had to plough before seeding. I did look at some seeders with a high breakout but most of them need at-least 150 hp to pull them, they were all more expensive, and most of them were a long way a way too. The air seeder was close by, I could make it what ever size I needed to suit my tractor and was affordable. I have been looking for a bigger tractor to go with it so I can put the wings back on it one day. Thanks from Geoffrey

@@brookdalefarm7986 Thanks for the explanation. I have often wondered why you went down the air seeder route on a small farm.

Hi, in the video we are seeding oats. We have a lot of rye grass coming up in the paddocks. Dew to the very late rains it made it hard to get a good weed control. Thanks from Geoffrey
