Seeding a honey is a way to boost the growth of crystals in order to make a soft set, finely granulated honey. In this video we will explain the seeding process and show our way of doing it.We are two friends from Denmark who have had bees and making honey together since 2009. In 2017 we won the world honey championship (Yes, there is actually such a thing) with our spring honey, so we have been working a lot with honey and learning a lot about honey over the years. If you have questions or comments, feel free to leave a comment. We will try to answer all questions.
And if you feel for it - please leave a like.Good luck with your seeding process.Lars and Zofuz
At the Apimondia congress in Montreal 2019, I made a talk about our seeding process and how we made the worlds best honey.
You can watch the talk here: • Lars Fischer, creamed ...

Morning, Thanks for your video, just the one question. what process do you use to jar your spring honey? do you just extract and jar? thanks Steve

Hi Steve. We also seed our spring honey. It has more glucose than our late summer honey, so we only wait 24 hours between the different steps. The first years, we did not seed it, instead we stirred it to break the growing crystals and in a week or so it would be ready for jarring.

I have done the seed honey into the raw honey but I think I got the ratio wrong (to much raw ) by a little. Should I let it set longer then the 2-3 days before using that as the base for the bigger seed or just start over or just bottle it?

I would just leave it longer like you suggest and use it as base for the next seed. Be sure to write down your experiences and your results. In that way you can do it perfectly next year… Good luck😀
