So we are trying to finish seeding up these sloughs before the next rain system moves in... Didn't quite make it.

In 1980 40 feet of drill was a large drill now you call a 40 foot a baby drill.

It's so good to see southern Saskatchewan with water in the ground. Hopefully you get a couple more 🌧 through the potential 'death ridge' that's coming.

Finish seeding or get stuck trying. 🤣 That poor Fendt, first he gets crapped on and now there´s even dirt inside the cab. 😂

Hi Mike I will be driving through your area later this week, I imagine the crops will look better than last couple of years. I could use less grasshoppers on the front of my truck. Here’s to a great year .

Hi Mike, we use a fertilizer spreader to seed the wets spots then cover it with the protill
@stevenwurz3440
@stevenwurz3440 3 месяца назад
We always seeded barley in areas that were to wet at seeding time, mixed barley with fertilizer and those wet spots would grow like a week, we farm 7000 acers, on that amount of land you will have alot of wet spots, and barley grows very fast. A few years old we did the same thing, our average just in the low spots was 126 bushel per acer.

From what I've seen this spring your efforts creating the waterways has been successful. I would guess in a typical year you would have been able to seed through! Looks like our prayers have been answered for this season so far! 🙏

Looks as though you are heading for a Bumper Harvest Mike. Unbelievable that Fendt would charge £30K for a set of Duel Wheels!? What planet are they on! Why is that?

All that expensive equipment invested in seeding areas just to suppress weeds… With Drone spraying technology within a farmer’s budgets you’d be better off investing in one and just drone spray those spots.
@mikemitchell2554
@mikemitchell2554 3 месяца назад
But by seeding the sloughs, 8x out of 10 I can cut a crop of some sort. The first year alone paid for the drill.
@Rooftopmatty
@Rooftopmatty 3 месяца назад
If you knew the prices of what those drones cost, and then to boot the special training needed to use them, it would only be beneficial to buy one to use it as a business not for spot seeding here and there on your own farm

Hey mike. Will you plan to harvest these sloughs at the same time as the rest of the field? You must be pretty confident they will be dry enough to carry a combine at harvest?

Our crops never do as good seeding into wet soil conditions. Seed into dust the bins will bust then let it rain in a perfect world.

Howdy Mike, I hope ya'll are having a dryer day, Satisfying, hmm...no not Satisfying, that's the opposite of Satisfying Mike, that looked horrendous, lots of mud, and a big waste of time and money, but that's just my opinion lol I know you Farm a massive amount of ground, and I just hope it pays off for ya'll, Stay safe, God Bless and Farm on my Friends
