I played this game just because this video. I cant believe I didnt hear about such a gem. When I got to the quote in the game, I got the chills even there
I had never even heard of Transistor until seeing this video - and honestly, this remix was so good that I ended up buying it? I've never heard a remix that so perfectly captures the feeling of its source material before, and this one still takes my breath away no matter how many times I listen to it. You did such a great job with this!!
This exact thing happened to me with a song called davyd by pogo, I heard the song, watched the movie and for a short while afterwards I wondered how the director had captured the spirit of the song so well before remembering it's the other way around haha
I still come back to listen to this, this game brings me back a lot of beautiful memories, your remix is awesome and it captures all the essence of this piece of art called transistor.
Dude, your timing scares me, you uploaded this right after I woke up from my surgery. And damn it feels good to watch one of your videos when stuff like this happens
Considering the source material, there was almost no way this wouldn't work. The fact you could stop at any point and just hum, would've provided you with a lot of opportunities to sample. The whole thing reminds me of the work of Imogen Heap/Frou Frou and I particularly liked the shift in mood at the half-way point.
Came back to listen this on account of today being Transistor's 10 year anniversary. Listening to this still gives me the same chills it gave me when I first heard it all those years ago. Thank you.
Man this song is straight up BEAUTIFUL! This is the second one of your remixes now that has caused me to buy the game it's based off of. Stuff like this is the best advertisement ever.
I told you to stop it with all this talent. Why didn't you listen to me? All right, that's it, you've forced my hand... I'm now a Patreon supporter. It feels... good.
liltommyj I've used your music in a handful of simple remixes on my stupid little DJ phone app. Mind if I post the dropbox links to your Patreon page? Not making them for money or anything, just sharing my love of your music and how well it goes with everything.
You hit it straight out of the park again, man. Chills from start to finish, this was absolutely beautiful. Please keep doing what you're doing, because it's fucking fantastic every time.
This just appeared into my recommended some days ago... and I keep coming back to it! It's gorgeous, and the emotion it evokes make me want to cry. Transistor's story made me emotional back then, and this remix just reminds me of all the moments and memories. Such a fantastic game, imo, and this is a remix that matches the OST itself!
I come back to this song a lot. This game meant so much to me when I played it so many moons ago ! the remix captures so much of what I loved in it. Mr Nobody saying 'you know that, right?' still gives me chills every time I listen
man... so many of these remixes have such a solid emotional feel as a backbone i cant help but smile or think of memories that seem to come up when i listen to these. Amazing phenomenal stuff, to get such emotion out of chopped up samples.
Man, you've got perfect timing on when you upload your videos. Just a few minutes ago I was thinking "I feel like listening to some calm, upbeat game remixes" and then, bam, at the top of my subscriptions is this. Also, having just finished Transistor a few weeks ago, I can say you've hit the mood of the game spot on with this.
I haven't seen this AMV in years and it STILL gets me emotional. MAN I NEED TO PLAY THIS MASTERPEICE AGAIN!! I couldn't even look fully at the screen during the last image, it made me so emotional! And yet, the song calls to me for a repeated listen already; it's just so beautiful.
Fuck it, if i was rich, i would give you 2000$ per month on patreon And if i was working i would give you like 10$ per song But, because i can't do anything for you, let me just ask you to never stop what you're doing ... please, this is just god-tier music
After an extensive sweep of google and the Transistor wiki,I can say that this whole song almost broke me. FKN HELL THOSE LAST TWO SCENES oooooOOOOOOO ;-;
ok i havent played the game the only things I know is that the sword has concience and shes a singer that said... holy shit at 0:56 i started crying... thats some serious understanding of love like infinite love I almost felt I was remembering something from another plane it was prety weird, but so good.
Believe me when I say this: Transistor is honestly one of the BEST games I've played in years and I highly recommend it. You are doing yourself a disservice by not playing it.
The story is AMAZING! :D It gives you just enough to go on and let you, as a player, to fill in the gaps and figure it out/imagine the rest yourself. Compared to games with boxes and boxes of text, I think this is a very smart move, as well as clever and engaging. The story is a revenge/ heart-wrenching love story that is, in my opinion, tremendously done. I cannot recommend it enough. The people who say the story's "meh" do NOT know what they're talking about!
What is this style of music called? I want to say 'Pogoism' but that feels disrespectful to other people who make mashups like this, and I'm also not sure if he was the first one to make something in this style... ANYWAY it's so beautiful :D
Plunderphonics is a term coined by composer John Oswald in 1985 in his essay Plunderphonics, or Audio Piracy as a Compositional Prerogative. It has since been applied to any music made by taking one or more existing audio recordings and altering them in some way to make a new composition. Plunderphonics can be considered a form of sound collage.
Given the scope of what you could actually compose by such means though, I'm not sure how effective it would be searching Plunderphonics to find such music as this, though I do think it would lead you to a likenamed genre.
Sound sync refers to any type of music that was made by taking soundbytes and playing them in a musical fashion. This could either be a cover or even an origional song. Chiptune and Noteblocks could be considered a part of this catagory.
