The dub _misgenders_ him once by having Ozen needlessly say "she" in a sentence. The dub overall is lazy and bad so I assume they weren't bothering to pay attention there and pre-emptively assumed Marulk was a girl.
Why exactly did you cut out Reg asking "Are you a girl?", Reg and Marulk bonding, and Riko exiting the bath? Do you just not want to acknowledge Marulk is a boy? If that's the case I'm surprised you didn't edit out every time Marulk refers to himself as "boku".
Marluk is a man BTW idk if they ever outright say it but clue is that he refers to himself with male pronouns but its hard to catch that in English since we don't know the Japanese words and they use pronouns differently in Japan so its not in the subtitles But now that i know the words its werid on a rewatch because i catch the pronouns now
To be fair, you are right, but just be aware that male pronoun words in Japanese, especially in anime, are not a 100% accurate way to know. Which I guess is obvious because the characters in shows don't her them say "boku" and immediately say "Ah yes, boy 'I', got it!". Reg poses the question to Marluk about being girl (which was cut in this edit) was dressed like a 'girl' (which has a canonical explanation of sorts; which can be summered as Ozen teasing him in a sense about the style of dress from his home country), but was confused not only because he was using male pronouns, but more importantly Marluk smelled like a boy to Reg.
It isn't stated outright but there's plenty both in the series and in extra materials that demonstrates he's a boy (two examples of which were cut out of this video for some reason). Any time it's about to be actually said the sentence trails off, probably because the mangaka finds it funnier that way. About the pronoun, it's not _just_ because he uses boku; it would be relatively normal for an eccentric or rough-and-tumble tomboy to use boku as well. It's that a girl who behaves the way Marulk does would not use boku to refer to herself, she'd use watashi. Japanese pronouns are all about attitude and contextual propriety.
How do you have 100k subscribers but only 200 views? wtf happened that's 0.2% of subscribers watch your videos and its not just this video its every video even the month old ones don't even reach 1000 views. Your not a bad reactor I have seen worse but what ever your doing if you still care about this channel just copy what ever the most popular reaction channels are doing.
He disappeared for a year so that likely killed his channel and he is watching older shows so not as much momentum I'm assuming this is a side gig for him because no way he is making a living from this If he wants more momentum he should react to more new shows I agree
@@thecultofcaged This isn't even THAT old. Yeah season 1 is a bit old now, but season 2 came out 2022. If not watching it now, he'd be watching it whenever the next movie or season comes out. It'd suddenly be 'New' then. Having a hundred dedicated viewers is almost always better then 100k passing randos. Not everyone wants momentum and is plenty happy with where they are. Sometimes having a big surge is more pressure then you want deal with. Even if you aren't making a full time living, having people pay to watch something you probably enjoy in your free time anyway... Idk, seems pretty good to me.
