Thank you for this overview! I've been using Seeking Alpha for years now. They predicted the current economics of SVB back in December 2022. Their podcast is stellar as well.

I came here before buying a subscription and have a better idea what the Premium subscription might be about. BTW, Seeking Alpha is having now (Dec 15, 2022) an end of the year Premium membership sale for $39, hard to beat!!....I thought I might share, best way of knowing if it works for you.

Nice review. Question for you - does the portfolio feature do any analysis on the portfolio? For example does it do any analysis to suggest if you might want to consider your over concentration in Utility stocks, or compare it to a 60/40 template? If so, does it perform any analysis across the combination of portfolios? I like what Personal Capital does in this regard, but it's not a research tool. I like some of the research I can get via Schwab but their interface s*cks and I can only look at my Schwab accounts. I like the looks of this. Just curious if it does portfolio analysis as well. Thanks!

Hey Russell! I don't believe Seeking Alpha will analyze your portfolio holistically. There is a ton of analysis and research available for each individual stock, and you can set custom alerts for stocks if any of their ratings/price/etc change. Hope that helps - but definitely try the 14 days free and see how you like it!

@@wallstsurvivor Thanks. I think I will do that. I wish there were a place where I could get great individual stock information AND portfolio evaluation, but I'll take what I can get. Thanks!

Thanks for the overview. Does Premium give you access to reports for a particular ticker written by investment banks, like Citi, JP Morgan, etc? So I don't mean the 'authors' as you mention, but the investment banks. Thanks

My portfolio is around $250,000, 90% of it being market ETFs (like VOO, VTI, QQQ), and 10% being individual stocks Is it worth buying seeking alpha premium? Will my individual stocks part of portfolio be able to outgrow the ETFs if I just buy their strong buy quant ratings?
@MrDevonMize
@MrDevonMize 2 года назад
No, but I will say; looking back there were ALOT of good calls coming from Seeking Alpha when Oil was in the shitter. However, stocks could keep going up/the ratings will stay the same. You gotta take it all with a grain of salt as well.

Definitely NO. first they have multiple authors. 2nd you have a very screwed authors who don't back anything up. Perfect example is how on the pulse author Says nio went from 15k deliveries to 8k in January sighting DEMAND ISSUE. Knowing damn well chinese new year was I'm January of this year. If he act compared this year to last yr chinese new year the numbers are higher year over year. So why would I pay for BAD INFORMATION?!?!?!?

The way the information is compiled is very convenient and can save time during the due diligence process. Not to mention, the cost is insignificant compared to most portfolios. It sounds like you're broke and get angry about things you can't afford.
@dicklongmire6836
@dicklongmire6836 Год назад
@@Steve-sz4bh Sorry. I know you wish that were true to support your argument but it's not. I retired in 2020 at 52 with $2.4 million all on my own with the help a free sites like bogleheads and Jack himself. I could have retired at 45 but decided 52 worked best. Maxed out work 401k and IRA in VTSAX. Added SCHD when it came out and then added Vanguard's Wellington. It's that simple. The problem with Seeking Alpha is the lure of being active and outperforming others howerver in truth jumping on their articles hot tip stocks and ETF's IMO is a recipe for long term detriment to your sucess. Jack Bogle has been right more then he was wrong. The basic and boring fundamentals of investing works.

@@dicklongmire6836 Its just that simple. Maxing out 401K? Sorry but not everyone has 20K laying around every year. If you have that kind of money to play with you're already wealthy
